at least the ARZO knew how to look on the interenet some hacker's stuff...
there is no protection against this worm since they were running phpbb 2.0.5.
The only protection is installing the 2.0.11 phpbb version.
Net-Worm.Perl.Santy.a is a worm used mostly for phpbb and it is a networm

So, how does it work? I Don't really know much about hacking...

it works in a very n00bish way...
It is relatively easy to hack a phpbb board.
the santy worm replaces all .htm, .php, .asp, .shtm, .jsp and phtm files into files of its own code and "defaces" the entire phpbb setting. quite easy but very effective.
I ve tryed that on a board i made yesterday and guess what the message was?

too bad there are easier ways that a lot of hackers aren't aware of.

trust me that RZ was as exploitable as melted cheese.
these "hackers" have done one good thing though in using this worm that is that it doesn't leave any logfile so it's hard to go after them.

i know because i knew the phpbb version RZ was running on that is 2.0.5 and it's as exploitable as melted cheese.
and also because once accidentally (and see how even accidentally 2.0.5 could get hacked) got the password of a user.
