Did Rayman rush come before Rayman M? Because if it did, then the battlemode might have not existed then. And anyway, don't forget the tittle: Rayman RUSH

In true words, PS1 couldn't work with battles. If you remember, races were also, err, cutted.

Maybe you are right. Rayman 2 for PS1 was also cutted - and remember, full game is probably more than one gibibyte (M for PC is on 2 CDs, and Arena version for GC is on one GC-OD, which can have about 1.1 GiB).

AND, you have to remember it could be only motivation to buy new console/PC and play Rayman M/Arena?

i think you've completely missed R4's point.

That would make the game incredibly similar to Rayman M/Arena and therefore wouldn't have originality

it doesn't have originality, it is basically just rayman arena but without the battling.

I've never actually played the game, but aren't the levels different to the ones in Rayman M?

well, i haven't played it either, i'm just judging by what i've heard, read and seen.
