Well, it could have just been a rather plain and lacklustre SNES title, for all we know.
Perhaps, but it seems to me that the SNES version would probably be about the same in quality as the Jaguar version.Master wrote:Well, it could have just been a rather plain and lacklustre SNES title, for all we know.
I had a real Jaguar controller in my hands when I went to GAME ON at Lisbon's Museu da Arte Popular and I tried to imagine how it feels like playing Rayman 1 on it. It felt like holding a huge brick, except it is made of plastic.Cairnie wrote:Whenever I've played with a real Jaguar at Eurogamer expo (though they mostly choose either Wolfenstein or Tempest 2000 to play with) I didn't exactly think much of the controls so I hate to imagine what playing Rayman is like on it.
You're right. The collision detection is the worst of all the R1s I've played.OldClassicGamer wrote:I think bad controlls are not emulator issue but the way Jaguar version works
Oh that's most likely to be the only minor problem of the emulation, otherwise I don't remember anything else.technology4617 wrote: There are actually a lot of sound bugs in the emulator, which are also shown in the playthrough you recorded.
The whole keypad was really not needed. Also look at this:Haruka wrote:I had a real Jaguar controller in my hands when I went to GAME ON at Lisbon's Museu da Arte Popular and I tried to imagine how it feels like playing Rayman 1 on it. Good way of putting it.Haruka wrote:I had a real Jaguar controller in my hands when I went to GAME ON at Lisbon's Museu da Arte Popular and I tried to imagine how it feels like playing Rayman 1 on it. It felt like holding a huge brick, except it is made of plastic.
Both look like poorly designed Genesis pad ripoffs. With keypads.OldClassicGamer wrote:The whole keypad was really not needed. Also look at this:

Well, this is Atari we're talking about. And the Genesis controller is probably not compatible, due to their brilliant exclusive controller.OldClassicGamer wrote:How about controller without keypad Atari? I guess not. I wonder if some other controllers would work on Jaguar like Sega Genesis controller.
It worked on older Atari consoles.
Hmm, I'm wanting one of those pro controllers for my Jaguar, now.OldClassicGamer wrote:

That was my reaction too when it booted up finallyOldClassicGamer wrote:YES!!!
I heared that already somewhere else, but thanks.OldClassicGamer wrote:You are a god of patching.
You are going to do it? Nice! What recorder will you use since Bandicam somehow does the gameplay slower.OldClassicGamer wrote:That will come great as a bonus for my Jaguar Let's Play. Thank you soooo much
Now.OldClassicGamer wrote:When are you moving back home?
No you can't and no there is nothing more left/developed?. Remember this one is made in 1993 and just a prototype. I remember there was a very old video on youtube presenting this proto and he couldn't fight bzzit as well.OldClassicGamer wrote:I cannot fight Bzzit. Is there any way to progess after him?
Press down and wait until he crouches and walk infront of an enemy and get hit. Stand still and watch what happens ;POldClassicGamer wrote:Alright. Ah well, it's still cool, and Rayman's scrapped move is interesting too.
