Good thing you found it! That’s usually quite hard to accomplish :noel: when was this commercial aired?

Sometime around the early 2000s. Although I seem to have been mislead by a fake title.

Here's one that's real.

That’s very 2000s indeed, but $24.99 A MONTH IN 2000s MONEY???

$25 would be around $34 nowadays. Prices were similar here.

As an unpopular opinion, I will say that Rayman Revolution isn't really such a bad version. If they had done the open world right, surely many people would consider it the best version.

If players had an attention span of >1 minute then it’d probably be the most loved version

I've never played Revolution, but I do think I would enjoy it, as I do like hub worlds. :)

I definitely would enjoy playing Revolution! Certainly much more than any of the handheld versions.

See that's probably why you're still stuck on Bongo Hills! :P

Master wrote: Fri Sep 08, 2023 7:28 pm Tho I wonder how unpopular the sentiment I have in saying that I find Origins a more satisfying game in general would be? Also I never did like the medieval fantasy angle that the series took from Legends, give me the old school occulty mysticism any day over the tired old knights and swords schtick.
I'm pretty sure most fans could agree on this, me included

Actually, just because of that is the reason I would like to see Rayman 4 in a hub world (and, of course, because I enjoy open world videogames). The series deserve a redemption after what they did there

It's an interesting version. Not my favourite one as I think the Hall of Doors is way more iconic, but you should give it a try if you have time for it.

I somehow agree with both of you, but the reality is that I don't feel that attached to the ambience from these games...

Revolution has some interesting content, like the Foutch bonus game.

It is a parody of the song "Antisocial" by Trust, but it's technically an original song called "Mecapiston", seemingly just different enough to work around the fact that they couldn't get a licence for the original :mefiant:

I don't really like how the music levels use licenced songs, but I can see how someone would like that.

Unpopular opinion: The shrinking ability in Origins sucks

I think parody makes the most sense for Mecapiston since aside from the beginning being slightly similar there is almost nothing (to me anyway) that makes me think of the song being parodied, So I guess we can say that we have 1 song that is completely original to Legends, 1 song that remixes an original song from Origins, 1 song which parodies a popular song, and the remaining 3 songs are short covers/samples of other popular songs. My favorite out of these is still Gloo Gloo though.

I think the reason people hate it so much is the way the content is presented, in an unenjoyable way

I hope you mean shrinking ability and not shlicking ability... :P

When shrunk, the game mechanics behave differently. Characters can launch up and sidewise in the air to reach what you wouldn't think would be reachable. It certainly takes time getting used to.

Don’t forget the walking on rails, which was actually quite useful

Again, I see your opinion is based off your trend towards fast-paced linear games, which is fine, you do you, though I wouldn’t recommend having that kind of mindset for playing R1 if you’re playing it for the first time (which iirc you were lol) Makes me wonder why you don’t like the original R2 anymore though……?

Oh funny you say that, because I’m playing r1 right now and just beat Bongo!

Yeah R2 used to be my favourite, but I just don’t like the general tone of the game
anymore :oops2:

Knowing Origins I wouldn't be too shocked
