Meh, I remember that.
In honesty, no. I'd rather not see a 2.5D Sonic remake, it's neat going forward, but going to the past, considering how 2.5D can make things "feel" off, and considering how much importance it had in those games, I think it'd be best to stick to pure 2.5D.
Plus, while Sonic Generations made look old zones look pretty neat, they were rather liberal in their modification of aesthetics, in honesty, I don't like how Mushroom Hill looks in that video.

The only Classic Sonic game I think would benefit from a full on Sonic Generations treatment is Sonic 3 & Knuckles, because that game has a lot of scale and great set pieces, so it would be fitting for that game. And Sky Sanctuary was wonderful in Generations, so I've got a teaser that proves it in that regard. Also, having 3D models would help make some of the more subtle plot points stick out more for players and PR guys who are less observant. I don't care if the Sonic 4 Episode I PR guys say that Knuckles' story takes place at the same time as Sonic's, there is way too much evidence saying that Knuckles' story is some time after Sonic's.
For Sonic 1 & 2, if they had to have a HD makeover, I'd prefer if they made it look more like the opening in Sonic CD. I LOVE that art style for Sonic's world, so much so that it may be my favourite. It'd basically be the Rayman Origins of Sonic (having a 2D, sprite based game that looks as clear and well animated as a modern cartoon, or in Sonic's case, anime). I also wouldn't mind this treatment for Sonic 3 & Knuckles, though I do find 3D models more fitting for that one.

It would actually be pretty cool to see a Sonic in the UbiArt engine.

It would be awesome but I doubt Sonic Team would want to use it.

Also, it turns out the IGN reviewer found Cobi's video and is currently in a "friendly" conversation with him. https://twitter.com/Cobanermani456
The reviewers user name is @Vincogneato.

I's on Cobi's twitter. When you see the name @Vincogneato, scroll down a bit till you see the first tweet with that name.

You deducted points from the score because YOU can't go fast
Learn how to go fast
COBI MAH MAN
LUVS U DUDE
Seriously, that was just pure class. I love how straight Cobi was with it all.
Also, I am really surprised the reviewer felt the need to speak up about it. He must really want to make the game look bad. I mean, it's not like anyone is expecting him to change the score, because once a review is done, it's done, so there is no reason for him to defend his review. He has no valid argument against Cobi's video, and that Desert Ruins footage that someone on Sonic Stadium recorded BEFORE RELEASE proves that with just a BIT of practice, one can learn to get serious speed, and hang time in mid-air, as well as take out enemies with ease.
I won't speak for things like the mini-game acts until I play the game myself. If it's anything like a Classic Spyro game, there is bound to be one or two stinkers there, with the rest being mediocre to pretty fun. But the core, parkour mechanics? They are perfectly fine, and I don't need to play the game to see that. The evidence is there in the videos from people like Cobi.

In all honesty, I'm not listening to IGN anymore because of that one review. Watch Call of Duty: Ghosts get a 10/10.
Gamespot and IGN have both proven to be ignorant reviewers, stick to Screwattack and Gametrailers, they are a LOT more honest when reviewing.
Edit: I had just finished reading Cobi's whole arguement, wow, IGN has truly proved to be very ignorant, this guy talking to Cobi was a complete asshole, and Cobi straight up owned his ass, without being an asshole.

I got sick of IGN and GameSpot after Sonic Unleashed, and a few other non-Sonic games I seen reviews of.
Although some of their reviews are fine, there is just too much bullshit with a lot of their reviews, with games like CoD and GTA, you can tell they are being paid to sing it's praises.
EDIT: Finally, a clean rip of the full Wind Hill Act 1 theme!
The guy has a few other songs up too.
I'm tempted to send a tweet to the IGN reviewer with the "Why slowing down is a good thing" article attached to it. Should I?

Done and done.
Also, this has to be one of my favorite songs in Lost World.
There's just something about it I really like.

Let that sink in.
Bubsy 3D does not even deserve 1/10. This review fails.
And how did Sonic Unleashed for PS3 get 3.5 while Bundy 3D a 5.5???
