I don't see why they wouldn't matter to "normal gamers". The cage locations for example mean that what needs to be done to complete the game is very different.
Also looks like the video of that prototype is gone. :( Anyone know another?

Is it similar to that prototype video Haruka has? I think that handstand thing Raynan can do looks cool in that other beta video she has up :)

Ah yes, this is the one! :D Surprised it wasn't on the wiki, but I'll rectify that now…

Yeah it would be better on the wiki.

I was wondering was that the one but wasn't sure if that's the exact prototype you were referring to.

Nice work then Fifo

That handstand thing seriously looks cool, I wish that had been in the final game :P

Well, now it's here, let's just recap: Allegro Presto, or anything like it, is indeed absent from the prototype. There's also only one section in Bongo Hills, and one in Gong Heights with a missing ending. This suggests that neither level was anywhere near finished, so we can't really conclude whether what we now know as Bongo Hills was originally going to be one or two levels. Ah well!
Though am I dreaming, or did someone manage to get into further levels using cheats?

I think I had another moment there where I simply just worded it wrong. :P

The handstand is really cool, though.

Well while ago I found another video of that beta by a guy who does Jaguar videos who claimed not to see "many differences" with the final version. So maybe you're right. :P

Maybe you meant "average gamers"?

Yeah I think that term is better! I should have said "average" instead of "normal".

I dunno about that, I think I'm just as notorious for confusing people. :)

Candy Chateau sure is different in the Atari Jaguar version. I wonder why the corkscrew and the switch knife didn't transfer to other versions?

Did you know that apparently after Betilla grants you a power in Rayman 1 then flies upward out of the screen, if you just stand there for ages she rises back through the bottom again?

Just like how in the old Mario and Popeye games you go through the screen edge and come out the other side basically.

I found out because I was playing but then had to do something and I like the music at that part, so I was there with the game unpaused and I seen her rise from the bottom of the screen and I was like WTF?

It's likely but it was the PAL PS1 version I seen it happen in. I could record it but it's easier to go stand there

I was doing something so was standing still for like 10 minutes then just say something moving and looked at her head rise from the bottom of the screen :P
