Because < has bronchitis. < has to take them at least once a day for 10 days. If it doesn't get better < has an infection to lungs and will have to go back to the hospital.
< used to take pills for concentration some years ago but < stopped taking them after that it started to have bad effects on <'s health. < wasn't eating anymore and was like a vegetable.

< usually wakes up around 1pm so everyone is up, else < would be questioning what's going on.

It's 12:48 as < is typing. So it's reasonable for them being awake.
