Compatibility issues, perhaps? Would it be possible to run them within an older version of Windows, within a VM?

Just tried running it on a XP Virtual Machine, but I couldn't get the game to work (neither demo nor full version).
Something to do with no graphics card being found I think, although I did enable the 3d acceleration.

I did not try the early demo but is it that different from the known R2 demo for PC with the wierd facial expression of Rayman?

It's not very different, but there are some small changes, especially in the game files.

No real in-game changes. I remember The Hall of Doors being named Hall of Doors now instead of Mapmonde and I actually think you started with a fully upgraded shot and that it said there were 0 cages in the level for some reason (though you could still get the cages resulting in it saying 1/0 cages)

you can basically trick the beta version to activate first person mode debug option in skate level, you activate the camera mode, go into snap mode then zoom out, and you creep out xD
Basically, that's because the game actually uses another rayman when using camera mode XD

using rayman 3 engine we can sawp forms as new powers that ones from rayman 4 trailer or rayman raving raving rabbids from gba or ds.

I made texture mods on GC (modifying the textures files, not dolphin replacement) but we can't do it on PC atm
Map modification isn't possible atm too
