Re: Signature/Banner Topic
My failed attempt at making a signature.

I might have been able to do better, but I can't remove the solid black or white background from pictures.

Couldn't you just something similar to a Magic Wand Tool?Greenbottle3 wrote:I might have been able to do better, but I can't remove the solid black or white background from pictures.

Re: Signature/Banner Topic
The Magic Wand Tool is available in all better image editing tools such as GIMP (free) and Photoshop (certainly not free). It looks like a magician's wand - a black stick with a white tip on the end - and enables you to click one point and at the same time select all adjacent points that have a similar colour. If the colour is different enough from whatever else is in your picture, say the white is in such a high contrast with Ray's skincolour that it is received as a distinct colour, then only that colour will be selected and when you then press 'DELETE' or something similar, you will be left with whatever else is visible in the picture. Try clicking the white background and deleting it and see if that gives you a good result.

Re: Signature/Banner Topic
Yes. GIMP. Paint is really inferior (to almost anything else) and besides, GIMP is free. It's like a budget version of Photoshop.

This sig just looks...appalling actually.Greenbottle3 wrote:My failed attempt at making a signature.

I'll give you credit that you're not Danone who just slaps a character and text onto a background although you only did 1 thing extra which would be make the characters colours inverted which is just plain ugly.
Really this isn't a good start at all. What i'd recommend is looking up tutorials on how to make sigs, to get an idea on how to make a sig not look like the pile of shit you just made.

Sometimes harsh criticism is the only way to ensure you improve.Greenbottle3 wrote:Um... thank you?
My sig isn't anything to shout about either as well, I just can't be bothered improving it.
