< was looking at an article about some events at the Penny Arcade Expo, and saw that while Jack Thompson refused to attend, they asked the next best person to take the stage in his place: Uwe Boll. (Remember, this is Penny Arcade.) This guy had once again proved himself arrogant, self-centered, and overly self-confident. (Like when he blamed the "lackluster" plot of Postal for his film's outcome. Postal is a game where you're a guy who basically runs around killing anybody and everybody, though you're the one making the movie. A movie plot is not a very good game plot, and vice versa, so I don't believe a plot's to blame.) Then again, in a way beyond his arrogance and self-centeredness, are all the headlines he gets. The thing is, from what I've found out, he doesn't care what people think about movies, as long as he gains money. (He said himself, as long as it is big name, many fans will end up watching the films regardless, raking in cash.) He's makes alot of headlines in the gaming world (like when he challenged a critic to a boxing match and sent this really juvenile e-mail to an another critic who gave Postal a bad review) and that allows his name to get out and around. Plus the fact that many people skim through articles often times, end up seeing that there was a movie for one of their favorite games, and they go out and see it, bringing in more money for him and the rest of his crew. False claims also start rumors from him, for example, the upcoming Metal Gear Solid movie, which he went as far as to say he received a script for it. (I visit Hideo Kojima's blog, who is the series creator, and he outright denied it himself--that he would never do a movie with Uwe Boll.) Rude, arrogant, and self-centered (and a bad movie director), though actually quite the marketing technique. Everybody hates you, though everybody also knows about a new movie based on one of their favorite games coming soon when he makes another headline and people check it out to see what he did this time. So I've now figured out that it's us who keep him afloat in the business. (Was just looking into it a little and thinking about it.)

< also found a rather odd "indie game", one called Sumotori Dreams that was pretty fun for being only 96k. It ain't bad and this is probably the only game I've found online that I can actually call fun. (And kind of funny.) You're somewhat of a sumo wrestler (composed of blocks) who lurchs around the screen trying to either knock the other guy over or push them out of the circle.
