Re: Rayman (kinda) confirmed for Smash Bros.

._. I am confused now...
Is it confirmed already?
Is it confirmed already?
I'm not here to step into your life and change who you are, but I've personally never understood why so many people feel the need to discover happiness through blind faith or chance. It doesn't make any sense to me, waiting around for some golden light to shine down upon you, to lift you up off your feet, absolving you of your sins and bringing you happiness, it almost spells out a level of entitlement. Whether you're born rich or poor, beautiful or ugly, loved or hated, when you place your contentedness in a game of chance, you only have yourself to blame for the outcome. You've handed the burden of providing yourself with happiness over to whatever it is you're relying on, entirely unbeknownst to it - and that's downright lazy, it means you can't even properly credit yourself for pulling through, if fate decided that for you.ripa9 wrote:And you guys do understand, right? Well I don't know... Not many has experienced the mental pain I have... but when something amazing like this is teased, made really believeable... There's just no worse disappointment than teasing a badly suffering person with a thing that would've been one of his greatest moments in his recent life.
Understanding =/= agreement.ripa9 wrote:....But there's pretty much no one who completely agrees with me here, so... yeah, no one really understands...
You've basically revealed to me that I'm the one to decide your happiness. What if, for whatever reason, ROTD never sees the light of day? Am I now to be held responsible for your mental state? That isn't fair.ripa9 wrote:if you're saying you've had it even worse and you're "man" enough to not care about this at all... then you've had resources to do so... either your simple mindness, or energy to do something else to get your attention away from it, or friends/family around you. I have adsolutely (...sorry) NONE of those.
And yeah, like I said... this is not just about some fries, for me. It's light in the complete dark... even if that sounds cheesy and overly reactive, I'm just in that bad condition (and don't tell me to get help, I do have, I've fought for 10 years). And as I've explained already, it's just that meaningful thing to me. And.. I don't mean to praise you just to please you, but it's a fact that RotD is one of those few lights, and I'm very much looking forward to it - I of course don't have too high hopes for stuff we haven't seen much yet, like level design and gameplay (not talking about the controls, but the overall experience).
I don't know what you've actually been through, so I have no frame of reference and wouldn't be able to give you a good answer. What I can tell you is that I started ROTD on a sketchbook while living in a trailer when I was nine, and that it wasn't for no reason. I was dejected by the cancellation of Rayman 4, but immediately I realised that allowing the decision of a Ubisoft executive that had nothing to do with me dictate the way I live is completely pointless, when there was something, even something crazy, I could do about it.ripa9 wrote:if you're saying you've had it even worse and you're "man" enough to not care about this at all... then you've had resources to do so... either your simple mindness, or energy to do something else to get your attention away from it, or friends/family around you. Wtf is wrong with that? Yes, I think some of what Project M is attempting to do is downright pretentious (in some kind of attempt to make non-flat maps more 'competitive', they ended up simply making a lot of them really dull and boring), but what's wrong with the concept, and furthermore, 95% of the execution?Pirez wrote:~~~ UNPOPULAR OPINION INCOMING !!! ~~~
People need to stop about Project M. The whole premise of its existence is because butthurt pros went all "wah wah, Brawl is not Melee".
"People need to stop driving because they could veer into oncoming traffic and die." Yeah, if you're fucking retarded, or unlucky to the point where the possibility isn't even worth taking into account when you consider doing it in the first place.Pirez wrote:But that's not the issue : in order to play it, you have to alter your console. And if you fuck up, your console is mostly dead at it's somehow Nintendo's fault (I've read that maybe a million times). That's a lot to risk just because Brawl is not enjoyable by the 1% since it's not Melee.
Absolutely nothing is wrong with that. But to say that this gloryfing it to the point that it makes a lot of gamers hate you for liking Brawl or making top 10 lists of best Wii titles instead of Brawl because "ololol Brawl is such shit" (see : Screwattack's list) is preposterous.Adsolution wrote:Wtf is wrong with that? Well that's not the point I wanted to make. More like : "People need to stop boosting the engine of their car because it can explode if done wrong and they die". Nice of you to call me retarded, though.Adsolution wrote:"People need to stop driving because they could veer into oncoming traffic and die." The point I was trying to make is that, if you're able to follow instructions, you should have absolutely no problem installing Project M danger-free. Maybe if they made people study the installation process as hard as they make people study for driving tests we wouldn't have people somehow managing to brick their Wiis.Pirez wrote:Well that's not the point I wanted to make. Because Brawl is not shit. In fact, it's a pretty darn good game, just like the original, Melee and Sm4sh.Adsolution wrote:How is that preposterous?Pirez wrote:or making top 10 lists of best Wii titles instead of Brawl because "ololol Brawl is such shit" (see : Screwattack's list) is preposterous.
Nothing I said was situational or dependent, it applied universally, you're extrapolating information I never even put out.ripa9 wrote:You, including other people, here and on other sites do have indicated, that you don't understand me, that's why I said so... It was more like "I disagree, because I don't know enough", because for example, you didn't know these are what my life consists of currently.
ripa9 wrote:It really sounds like you don't understand depression for example. (...) It is understandable that you don't understand though, if you haven't experienced the total loss of everything and the dead end, like I have.
Whoops, I actually somehow misread the quote and left out the "ololol Brawl is such shit" part in my head. Yeah, that is pretty ridiculous, though I would fully expect to see it on a top-ten above Brawl regardless of the reasoning.Pirez wrote:Because Brawl is not shit. Actually, Smash is one of my favourite series, I've played it religiously since the first game came out.ripa9 wrote:I'm also guessing you don't care about Smash that much?
