Played one level of Power Rangers: Super Legends. Enough to make a video about it.

I'm playing two games currently.
Her Story, an investigation game made of actual video footage. So far, it's really great. The story is intriguing, and has amazing twists. I really like how the game lets completely explore the case in a non-linear way. It's a unique detective experience!
And also, Shadow Complex being free for the holiday, I decided to play it. It's a cool Metroid-like, with great level-design and nervous mechanics. It also has some pretty settings: while the game is made of 2D levels, environments are in 3D, and it creates some nice scenes.
What I like though, is the contrast between the first game entirely narrative with a great effort on the story, and the second one being more focused on its interactive mechanics and… Having a really dumb story in comparison.
Random guy infiltrating (accidentally) a military base to save his girlfriend (of course there's a damsel in distress, I mean, what other motivation could there be to fight terrorists? :p), killing them surprisingly easily, and defeating even the most advanced technology, while acknowledging that “they have an army capable of invading any country… maybe even ours!?”. And passing through the most clever security system ever made, where every locked door has a hatch above it, or just unlocks when every guards in the room are dead. Of course, these clichés are found in most games. But this one also have a lot of dialogs, trying to develop the plot, even giving background, motivations and feelings to the characters. But when the protagonist comments on how easily he kills every enemies, or when the terrorists are wondering “Who that unstoppable intruder is”. It falls completely flat given the absurdity of one dude dismantling a whole terrorist network only for his girlfriend.
It's not necessarily a flaw though. It makes the game kind of funny. I'm enjoying it and the other one both.

Lisa The Painful RPG
Everyone whose played Undertale should really consider giving this a look as it's another Earthbound inspired RPG. Though it's very grim, and there's never really any upbeat or happy moments like Undertale. The game is about surviving a world void of woman, where you're tasked with saving one young female named Buddy. In this journey, you'll just see how digusting humanity really is, fighting off perverts and creeps who will do anything to nab buddy. You'll have to make sacrifices (cutting limbs off, killing off your party, etc.) It's a game that REALLY fucks with your emotions, there are many moments that are sad, yet some that are just downright silly. I feel like not many games do this, and it's very comparable to the likes of Mother 3. Worth checking out for $10 on STEAM. And for RPG maker, it's very impressive.

I've recently embarked on a nostalgic game marathon involving a lot of old PS2 games from my childhood. Last night was Jak & Daxter, which actually has a lot of similarities with the second Rayman game. My partner played with me on this occasion, but, in typical girl fashion, she was utterly useless (no offence to anyone here ).
Tonight will be some lesser-known war games and tomorrow, Rayman M...

Xenon, that's awesome. Jak and Daxter was one of my favorite PS2 games and still remains one of my favorite 3D platformers (I hold it higher than Banjo-Kazooie and Mario 64 of the likes.) Somehow the HD version, despite being just a simple HD port, looks even more colorful/vibrant than the PS2 version. It's still unbelievable to me it was made in 2001.
Jak 2 and 3 are still fun games but they aren't nearly as great as the original, I guess Naughty Dog wanted to cash in on what the cooler trend was at the time. Not that there's anything wrong with that as they were both still great games.
Out of curiosity, what similarities do you see with Rayman 2 for Jak and Daxter? I know one of the areas in the game- Boggy Swamp, gives me slight Rayman 2 vibes.

I actually bought Jak and Dexter not too long ago. I'm eager to test it out once I finish Crysis.

@ Rayfist: I would agree with your assessment of the follow-up games. There was certainly nothing wrong with them, as games, but they failed to carry forward the magic of the original, thus making them disappointing sequels. I read somewhere that the developers deliberately abandoned the style of the original to accommodate their 'older' gaming preferences, which is sad really.
To answer your question about similarities, I find the worlds in both games have a magical memorable feel, as you said, but also about finding things and beating unique enemies and discovering cool things and exploring freely. It's quite hard to explain. Music was another thing. Both games just had a lot of character that you don't find so much these days.
