Re: Rayman Origins
Sorry about the following off topic post, but I really need to make something straight (BTW, TK, it's nothing against you)- how come TK's signature, which fills up at least two thirds of the page, is allowed, and mine, which was way smaller, is deleted? Again, TK, it ain't personal. I'm not immature or anything. I just want an explanation.
I prefer Bad Rayman. Something about Dark Rayman seems really off.

I read during summer that for example the Nintendo 3DS's production cost was nothing more than 70€, while Nintendo was selling it to the public to 250€ (at the time). Now the profit is naturally lower.

Re: Rayman Origins
One of the biggest mistakes of the 3DS was probably the lack of the second analog, which was something I would never notice if the issue wasn't brought up to surface.
I hope the GBA Ambassador games are good enough to convince me I didn't rush too much in the buying of the console in the release date, the NES games aren't enough.

Re: Rayman Origins
I don’t think either name has a very respectable source, but ‘Dark’ is the modifier usually used for evil doppelgängers of good characters. The one in the original game literally looks like a dark version of Rayman. The fact that he was created by Mr Dark makes the name seem even more natural. Rayman Origins will most likely be the first time that this character (or concept) has been named in a real Rayman game, so let’s just wait and see.Hunchman801 wrote:In which case ‘Dark Rayman’ is a made up name from an even more obscure spin-off; at least Rayman Designer and Rayman Junior were developed by Ubi, unlike Rayman Advance.spiraldoor wrote:I still regard ‘Bad Rayman’ as no more than a dodgy translation from an obscure spin-off.

What? too ridiculous for you?spiraldoor wrote:sergiomonty wrote:Ok spiraldoor, not only me, but also El Dango. Both of us have enough evidence to support the fact that every character is different.

Spiral, you totally, totally need some imagination.
This is the point: As long as they have different profiles, they're different characters, and if you notice, you have less evidences of your point than me and El Dango. Maybe you consider the "Goth Teensy" as the name of the skin, but that's your opinion. Give me only one evidence, only one, that says that every character in this game is the same character with "just a different skin". My point is the Bubble Dreamer, so where is yours? you've lost this ti... no, not this time, AGAIN, spiral, just try to face it, you can't win always.
P.D: That's totally a female teensy

Re: Rayman Origins
Then the Granny Skin of Rayman in RRR is a female "Rayman" in your point of view.
I wouldn't take the skin issue very seriously. I also think it is just a skin, and not a different character.

Re: Rayman Origins
^ Nope, they're suits because Rayman takes the suits from his locker, and obviously, he's alone. Here, characters come out from bubbles with the magic of the bubble dreamer, and rayman is not alone. So your logic is: If rayman goes to the Snoring Tree, gets inside of Globox's bubble and globox comes out, that's not globox, it's "rayman looking exactly as globox". See what you're saying? that's not logical. So this is what I'm saying: if a teensy gets inside of another teensy's bubble, then another teensy appears, not the same one with another costume. Also it depends of which character it is, because as I said, some characters are particular "skins" , like the globox rayman, the rayman teensy and the globox teensy, but some are totally different and have their own backstory, like dark rayman and the rest of the teensies.

Re: Rayman Origins
That's definitely the way to go. I am starting to wonder, however, if this character (or skin) isn't supposed to be a zombie Rayman actually. Or maybe that's just Halloween.spiraldoor wrote:Rayman Origins will most likely be the first time that this character (or concept) has been named in a real Rayman game, so let’s just wait and see.
Re: Rayman Origins
Zombie Rayman was used in the "different ways to die" trailer too, which wasn't released on Halloween (I think). So... I guess he's a zombie now.Hunchman801 wrote:That's definitely the way to go. Re: Rayman Origins
Well, Hunch, they confirmed that there would be a Dark Rayman. You saw the t-shirt with dark rayman on it, does it look like the zombie rayman from the halloween trailer? Also, it looks like they're skins, because the zombies appear in somekind of weird cutscene in the "10 Ways to die" video. It would be very awesome to play as the zombie teensy

In a previous preview I think.
Aaah, in the day of the demo, I have a test at school. Yipee.

Don't you remember? a preview that said that Dark Rayman and Globox before his accident with the berries and the moskito (Red Globox) were unlockable characters. I can't believe that you forgot about that preview, it produced an enormous hype around here during those days

Please don’t use vague ad hominem attacks.sergiomonty wrote:What? too ridiculous for you?
Spiral, you totally, totally need some imagination.I don't even know if this game fits with you or if you're just getting it because you're a rayman fan, because i can't find the "crazy" side of you.
What do you mean by ‘different profiles’? I have no idea what you’re talking about. Are you calling the Bubble Dreamer’s statements ‘profiles’? All he’s doing is reacting to the characters’ changes of costume. He gives at least three separate responses to the green-clothed Teensy: Louons ses narines..., L'expert en gobage de mouches !! and T'étais pas Roi la derniére fois qu-on s'est vus ? These translate to Praise his nostrils..., The expert gobage (?) flies! and You were not a king the last time we saw each other? None of these give any indication that the green-clothed Teensy is meant to be a new and different character, and the third one makes what appears to be a direct reference to the Teensy’s change of costume.sergiomonty wrote:This is the point: As long as they have different profiles, they're different characters,
sergiomonty wrote:and if you notice, you have less evidences of your point than me and El Dango.
No, it’s not an opinion, it’s a conclusion I reached by examining the available evidence. When the gothic Teensy pulls on the Bubble Dreamer’s beard, he responds Un Ptizêtre gothique ? Quoi ?! Moi, si tu es lá, qui garde la Porte Tombale ??, meaning A gothic Teensy? What?! But if you’re here, who’s guarding the tombstone?! This is an exceedingly vague statement, and until we have specific confirmation than Gothic Teensy is a brand-new character, we can assume that it’s what it’s been presented as: a skin.sergiomonty wrote:Maybe you consider the "Goth Teensy" as the name of the skin, but that's your opinion.
I’ve already explained in detail why your assumptions are not supported by the evidence we have, and the Bubble Dreamer’s ‘profiles’ lends more credence to my case than yours.sergiomonty wrote:Give me only one evidence, only one, that says that every character in this game is the same character with "just a different skin". My point is the Bubble Dreamer, so where is yours?
Please stop trying to antagonise me by preying on what you perceive as my insecurities. I don’t give a shit if I’m wrong about something as trivial as the canonical nature of unlockable skins in a videogame, but at least I’m trying to analyse the evidence logically rather than leaping to the assumption that I like the best. I have no problem with stupid arguments, but any more unjustifed declarations that you’ve ‘won’ will not be tolerated. Please try to retain some dignity.sergiomonty wrote:you've lost this ti... no, not this time, AGAIN, spiral, just try to face it, you can't win always.![]()
Re: Rayman Origins
Finally made a preorder on Rayman Origins. I was waiting it off just to be sure about the CE's availability in these parts. But the normal edition will suffice. (I also preordered AC:R which, according to the site I preordered it from, will appear 9-10 days after RO.)
Re: Rayman Origins
Possibly late and irrelevant, but it really reminds me of Robopirate's ships. Guess that's just coincidence or small cameo, but it's still nice to see some R2 references. Speaking of game's art, has anyone seen any good frescos in the Origins' promo materials? I loved those obscure wall painting in Desert of the Knaarens or The Longest Shortcut, small things like these really add to the atmosphere.
Also, I don't see point in arguing with one of a few actually mature and clever on this board(not supposed to be egoboosting).

Re: Rayman Origins
Wooden airships have become an iconic part of the Rayman series, but the developers couldn’t include the Robo-Pirates themselves without shattering the continuity. I’m sure that’s why they decided to give the Lividstones those flying warships in Origins: to stir up memories of Rayman 2 without contradicting it.

Re: Rayman Origins
I remember it perfectly, but it's nothing but an independent review that's doesn't prove anything about this character (or skin)'s nature, and even less about his name. So, it could as well be a zombie Rayman or anything you like.sergiomonty wrote:Don't you remember? a preview that said that Dark Rayman and Globox before his accident with the berries and the moskito (Red Globox) were unlockable characters. Re: Rayman Origins
blah blah blah, whatever, spiraldoor
Anyway, we saw a lot of Pirate ship references, there's also the pirate airship that we saw at the e3 demo.
