I never reached it, so I can never know.

I have over 999,999 in the Land of the Livid Dead. Oddly enough, there, it clocks to 0 and restarts, but the number you see it from actually adds to 1,000,000. Jona said it was possible to get over 999,999 in the Tower of the Leptys too (I think), but so far, I've only gotten over that level in LotLD. In the Tower of the Leptys, the over 9999 combo thing screws me over big time. Especially in the big hoodlums battles, because you can actually combo just about every hoodlum with another and another and another. :\
Randy Phantom wrote:Phoenixan wrote:Well, it really isn't hard to have something in the combo incrimination like...
if combo>=10000{
score += combo
combo = 0
}
Instead of just...
if combo>=10000 then combo = 0
So... you mean people change that to fix it? O_o
No, I'm saying the Ubi programmers are lazy...
Though I do wonder if that can be fixed via cheat engine.

Cheat engine, are there really cheat engines for Rayman 3? I guess that could be why you see some people with such high points.

I guess you mean 99,999

Yeah, it's one of those things Ubisoft never considered when designing levels like TLOTLD. They assumed we'd never be able to exceed it. It's actually possible to get 119599 in TLOTLD as the combo counter still works so long as the points don't reach 100,000, and this trick is used in all levels apart from FC and LS. (I have used it in 6 out of 7

) The good side of it is extra points are available.

I wonder what the lums race code for maximum points is?
Imagine if somebody hacked the disc and found out and then posted it!

I think it was 999,999 because supposedly someone got the highest without actually earning it.

Yeah, I do seem to remember some idiot on the old RZ hacked to get one more point than Jona, ex-topscorer of the game. This was done twice so it was definitely a hack.

You know... I don't see any point in cheating just to have the best record. >__> That ain't fair to those who work REAL HARD for what they accomplished.

Aye, the score system pretty much screwed over my will to play this game.

I play the game for the beauty of the backgrounds.

Well I don't only play it for the score, but now that I have close to 800000 it would be nice to concentrate on getting 109000 in HH. By the way, I have 119599 points, the maximum in TLOTLD ^__^

Meh, I royally suck with scores, thus I don't even attempt much at them. XD All I want is to have the bonus levels and stuff, and after that, I don't really care about my score. X3 ....could you believe that I actually score about...30k in The Longest Shortcut, at best? XD

I play Rayman 2 for fun and beauty.
I play Rayman 3 for points. Or I used to... XD I don't play Rayman 3 as often as I do Rayman 2 or a game like Psychonauts. But it does get pretty extreme once you start playing the game and learning all the quirks just to effect your score, like the matuvu glitch (you can get the circle to still be over Rayman's head while you zoom out, allowing you to collect gems and get a major combo easier). I find that Rayman 3 does get pretty boring quick if you don't care about the scoreboard. I actually tried out a speedrun (breeze through the game as quick as possible with as few power-ups or items collected to complete the game), and it's pretty darn linear and boring.

I find it fun to search for secret places in Rayman 3 and 2. I find it boring to try to get a higher sore, and it is very annoying, when you do one combo wrong you got to replay the whole level until you get it right.

There are downsides to scoring big, but the feeling knowing you've accomplished a difficult combo is worth the wait.
