Heh, I still have to get Original trilogy on Wii but it can be quite expensive

Best of luck Haruka!

Nintendo Direct is tomorrow. Anyone gonna watch it?

Hm, I doubt we'll be hearing anything about Metroid anytime soon, and that's pretty much the only Ninty thing that's got me for the moment, but time will tell.
I'll probably not watch it live, but I'll gather up data on what is planned later, and probably watch the archived stream.

I'll probably try to, as I should have most, if not all of my college work done for this term by then, maybe even by tonight.
I'm a bit cynical about it after VGX, but hey, maybe we'll get a Christmas miracle of an announcement.

If they did announce a new Metroid, whatever console it is, I'll watch very closely.
Hm, did you ever share your thoughts on Other M?

I haven't played Other M, so I can't give a real opinion. I've read eye brow raising articles about the story that make it come across as really sexist, but I'll hold off on saying much on the game until I play it. It at least looks like a fun enough game.

Me! But it better be after school or I'll be upset.
Oh, and just realized it airs at 9:00 A.M. here, in which I'll be in school... fuck.

It has been rather divisive, from what I've read about it also, but I've not played it either, I was curious to see if you had anything to say on it.

It'll likely be one of the last Metroid games I play. When I start diving properly into the Metroid series, Super Metroid and the Prime Trilogy are my top priorities, as I have enjoyed the little I have played of them so far.

Hm, I jumped in at the wrong end, methinks. I started with Fusion, the last game in terms of the series' canon, then I played Zero Mission, a remake of the very first Metroid game. Then I moved on to Super Metroid, where I'm still stuck on Ridley. Also played the Prime Trilogy, dabbled a little with Prime Hunters, and haven't touched either Return of Samus or Other M, though I'm following AM2R, a remake of Return of Samus, and I'll probably play that to compensate for it.

I forgot about AM2R. I really should keep an eye on it. I'll want to play Return of Samus at some point, so hopefully AM2R is finished by that time.

Likewise, I doubt I'd play the original, technically impressive for its time it may be, but I've found it difficult to attune to the Metroid titles of the 8 bit systems.

So apparently Nintendo is giving out Super Mario 3D Land for free if you register a 3DS by Jan. 19th.

I posted a link about that earlier in the topic, if people want to check that.

I am late to come across this news. They started this promotion back in November!

It would be better if they gave Super Mario 3D World instead

A question for you guys. Since Mario 3D World has been getting nothing but critical acclaim, would you like to see it's gameplay become the new 3D Mario formula?

I havent played it since I don't have Wii U but since it's similar to 3D Land I will share my thoughts.
My opinion is that they should use both 3D Land formula and 64 formula. For example swich sometimes. Next 2 Mario games (one on 3DS and one on Wii U) should use 64 formula.

Nah, I wouldn't want to have time limit.

They could combine elements from both 3D Land and 64 formula maybe and create new one.
