Re: Rayman 2
Same on GameCube though, it was only on PS2 for some reason. Maybe its because that console came out earlier than the rest.

Re: Rayman 2
Basically I think the team that were supposed to port Rayman 2 to PS2 went a bit rogue and remade the game from scratch. I guess rather than risking a repeat of that, Ubi decided to end the game's life cycle then and there (until Rayman DS that is). To wit, a port to Xbox, had it happened, would probably have started from the original game rather than Revolution…

Re: Rayman 2
Mmmmm, so RR was never actually supposed to have happened at all in that case? That’s very curious indeed!

Pretty much. I'll try and find the relevant paragraphs in l'Histoire tonight and see if they help me explain better.

Re: Rayman 2
Alright.
That reminds me, was it the N64 version that came out first or was it the PC? They are both the original version aren’t they?

Re: Rayman 2
I'll always wonder now how well the PS2 would have played the original ported version. Considering it has twice the RAM the Dreamcast has and a more powerful CPU, it still could have looked better than Dreamcast whule having the same framerate. I guess you just get used to RR but even if you play Rayman Origins on 3DS compared to the other versions, it's such a struggle at half the framerate

Re: Rayman 2
Well, at least i know this glitch happens in a lot of versions
Btw, it seems Bandicam didn't register this as HD. I wonder why?
Re: Rayman 2
640x480 window? Needs to be at least 720p to be HD which sucks because you only get 30fps unless it's HD.The Jonster wrote:Well, at least i know this glitch happens in a lot of versionsBtw, it seems Bandicam didn't register this as HD. I wonder why?

Re: Rayman 2
Hm, I could fix this probably by making it full screen, but the problem is the N64 emulator window closes when I press F12 because it's the hotkey on Project64 to end emulationSteo wrote:640x480 window? Oh, nvm I changed it on Bandicam
Re: Rayman 2
Set the resolution to like double or something to it's 960p if that isn't working. It should stretch to at least 768p though depending on your screen resolution. The Jonster wrote:Hm, I could fix this probably by making it full screen, but the problem is the N64 emulator window closes when I press F12 because it's the hotkey on Project64 to end emulationSteo wrote:640x480 window? Re: Rayman 2
I dunno how big my fullscreen is so I guess i just have to test it out.
Re: Rayman 2
Most laptops are 1366x768
Mine is 1920x1080 for some reason though

Re: Rayman 2
Hmmm..it appears when I tried recording with fullscreen it just showed a black screen. Probably because I may be using an emlator...
Lol. I'm an eejit. I just realized I could change the resolution on Project64
Time for another test!

Re: Rayman 2
Hm.....this time the play only went up to 480 when I set it Project64 to 1024*768. I don't think the resolution can go any higher than that without looking weird.
Re: Rayman 2
1024x768 would be it but I think it should count as 720p because it's over it vertically. Maybe it's bandicam not seeing it as a game maybe?

Re: Rayman 2
I just tried game capturing mode and it recognizes Project64. I've been recording with rectangular screen and on both tries the recording still ended up as 480p when I uploaded to Youtube. The FPS remained at 60 at all times though.
Edit: OH, I just realized the window of recording is 1024*731
Haahhahahahah!
I must be a dummy to not see that!
But it doesn't look like I can get the resolution up any higher at the moment. Hmm, maybe I should run more tests..

Re: Rayman 2
720 should be enough though to get HD. I wonder why it's doing that.

Re: Rayman 2
I have determined from testing that there is a problem with Project64's Glide plug-in for my laptop whenever I go over 1024*768, and when I do end up recording the res ends up being only 1024*731. By switching to Jabo's Direct 3D8 plug-in, and switching the res to 1380*768, it worked perfectly and now it's HD, with the only drawback being that the opening cutscene will not display the title properly unless I switch to Glide. I think for the intro and the escape I'll just record with Glide and use Jabo for the rest.
But I think I need to keep testing just to be certain.

At least you can get it to work though I wonder what's happening there.
