It is illegal in most countires but that does not stop kids asking their older friends to buy for them.

@Master, So it is also in Germany. But the sad thing is that it won't be illegal anymore with the age of 16+. Having sex is also illegal until 14+. Smoking 18+. The majority in my classes are smoking infront of the teachers and authority persons but they don't give a shit to them.

@OCG, while I am now legally allowed to drink I still never had a taste of any alcoholic drink. I personally find it smells horrible, but it's my taste, not to blame others!

It's not so much the kids, but rather the parents making it seem OK and even enjoyable. Not that I'm against drinking, but don't give it to your fucking children so they can grow up to become clones of your sad lives and continue to spread stupid.

EDIT: Though maybe parents shouldn't drink at all in front of children in the first place. It more often then not leads to shit.

I don't mind if a thirteen-year-old has alcohol, as long as they only have a bit, not enough to get drunk off of, and not like every day; I've been harmlessly drinking wine now and then ever since I was eleven or twelve. I'm still technically not of age yet (drinking age here is nineteen), but then again, I also pirate software on a regular basis.

The taste, and tracing back to a conversation from a couple of months ago, with the right group of people, getting a bit drunk can be a silly-fun thing to do. I've never done it, and I'm not sure if I'm yet social or comfortable enough to try that sort of thing (nor do I think I'd even be able to stand the taste of it in such large quantities), but in my personal opinion, I think I'd make a pretty fun drunk. Don't think of it as a negative thing like many people do, and I'm sure you don't, it's just a common social activity like any other that people enjoy.

I am wanting to try it at least once at some point though, as even with just using them once, mind-altering substances can make you think of things you never would have thought in a sober state, essentially opening your mind. It would be great for creativity.

I don't see it as a negative thing. I just don't think it would be something good for me, seeing how I question who I am and start crying when I sleep walk, I don't really want to think about if I was drunk, I think I would be a complete disaster.
