It's nice how a neutral point of view, or simply facts, is considered progressive or liberal by conservatives. It just shows how closed-minded people can be...
So do I but the way they describe it is just too lame.spiraldoor wrote:I disapprove of same-sex marriage.
I used to try and watch that back in the summer but in the end I didn't find much time to watch anything on CN [as always]. I do like it though, it's one of the more decent 2000s toons out there. You do know Flapjack's voice actor is also his creator though right?MLII[2Random4U] wrote:Well, on a completey unrelated note, I've just finished watching The Marvellous Misadventures of Flapjack because I've seen tons of fanart for it on dA and I wanted to know what all the fuss was about.
It's weird, is all I'm going to say. Weird with a gay opening.
And Flapjack has THE most annoying voice in HUMANITY. And his laugh...UGH. D: God.
Apart from that, it's actually not too bad. But God is it annoying. D: I was sitting there at the end of the episode thinking, "What the hell?"
Sure they have the right to get married. Just not to members of the same sex.SuperSunshine wrote:I see nothing wrong with it, they have the right to get married just like anyone else.
Why not ?spiraldoor wrote:Sure they have the right to get married. Just not to members of the same sex.SuperSunshine wrote:I see nothing wrong with it, they have the right to get married just like anyone else.
My point exactly. Plus the fact that marriage would allow them to adopt children, which I don't think is a good thing for the kids, not because of the parents but because society is certainly not ready to accept this yet.Phoenixan wrote:I think the whole reason behind the issue in the first place is because marriage has been defined by religion.
I do.StaceyW wrote: Am I the only one here who DOES approve of same-sex marriage?
Nope, you're not. :3 I also don't see anything wrong with same sex adoption.StaceyW wrote: Am I the only one here who DOES approve of same-sex marriage?
That's an extraordinarily cruel thing to do to a child.MLII[2Random4U] wrote:I also don't see anything wrong with same sex adoption.
Hmm. When exactly did you decide that you were a 'gay rights activist'? That's not the sort of conclusion an eleven-year-old reaches about themselves for no reason. Were you pushed into adopting this stance by homosexual propaganda of some sort? Or was it something your parents or a teacher said to you?MLII's interests wrote:Well, I'm a gay rights activist (Just thought you should know ^^), I have a particular enthusiasm for TaeKwonDo, I watch too many Canadian cartoons, and Stacey once said I was obsessed with RTAS and she may be right. Also, I'm crazy. But good crazy not nuthouse crazy
I can see your point, I have to say.spiraldoor wrote: That's an extraordinarily cruel thing to do to a child.
Recently. Okay, it's a little heavy for an eleven year old, but hey. I wasn't pushed into it, I decided for myself.spiraldoor wrote:Hmm. Please tell how how your 'gay rights activism' career began.
Just what was it that caused you to make the decision, if you don't mind me asking?MLII[2Random4U] wrote:Recently. Okay, it's a little heavy for an eleven year old, but hey. I wasn't pushed into it, I decided for myself.
Why are you being so fussy about this, spiral?spiraldoor wrote: Edit: To clarify, the main reason I oppose gay marriage is that it gives equal status to heterosexual and homosexual couples, even though they clearly aren't equal. I think the gays should be happy that they have their civil partnerships, which are more than enough for them and fulfill every practical purpose that a marriage does.
