I feel like I will be ripped apart for this, but I'm not a fan of idea that Magician in Origins suddenly became Mr. Dark's fanboy, even as an UbiArt fan, especially with his previous history with Mr. Dark in older games it just feels out of character and random, especially after all of stuff that Mr. Dark did to him and his friends too.

Hey, Solo! It's good to see you on RPC! I agree, it was extremely out of character. If they're going to change the magician into a Teensie then they should, at the very least, carry over his original lore into his new character. It makes me wonder if they entirely cut out Rayman 1 from the lore since the Magician is suddenly evil as well.

Hey, Solo! It's good to see you on RPC! I agree, it was extremely out of character. If they're going to change the magician into a Teensie then they should, at the very least, carry over his original lore into his new character. And I agree with you! I just really wish that they could carry his original lore and combine that with betrayal arc they were going for, with a bit different reasons and motivations for that of course, as his part of motivation for that is somewhat related to Mr. Dark and like trying to usurp his place (???), which is confusing, as Magician already had his own motivation for trying to take over the world in the scrapped script and leaked one as well
I feel like it's still related to Rayman 1, but they changed a lot of stuff from it so much, that it feels more like a reboot of the series rather than sequel, like Magician being suddenly Mr. Dark's fanboy thing or that they literally changed Bzzit's name into Moskito for no reason.

The magician in origins and in R1 are different characters
Well, I'm personally see Origins Magician and R1 Magician as one person rather than separate characters, so yeah.

The reboot explanation is honestly a good one for all the inconsistencies, but I would have preferred them to tie in the other games somehow so it felt more familiar to people who played the previous games. I really do wonder why they went with this plot other than the one they scrapped.
I will ALWAYS call him Bzzit! It's such a cute name and they shouldn't have changed it.

I don't really have much a theory about it, I personally see it more as redesign thing from them, especially since they tried to make Rayman more unique and being the "the only limbless being", though Stone Men are exist in Origins and they're limbless too
But it also somewhat defeated the purpose for it, when in Legends they added more Rayman skins and all of them are treated as separate characters (Especially Rayomz), which is really weird.
