Bwahaha... now I gotta try that sometime too. XD If I remember anyways. Hehehe...
I'm afraid I'm terribly impatient, so I just listened to the first three or so minutes of that first one... but I thought it was pretty nice. Not my cup of tea, that genre, but it's not something I'd cringe away from either.

Though it's very true that there's no way to actually know until it's finished. We'll just have to wait and see. :3

A microphone? I always thought of the Glade as primitive. The most advanced technology is the hoodlum/Razoff guns. And the hoodlum steampunk, I suppose (wait, where did that come from?).
Still, good art.

Why thanks you all.
@ParadoxJuice:
Well... I guess I could replace it with some organic version, but I didn't originally think of them as super primitive. I thought of them as living in wooden structures and organic things like trees and hammocks, but it kind of being like the wild west where you have your uncommon piece of technology or simple wired circuits and that's about it. For example, there's a little stage in the Dream Forests that you see Moskette sing at and where the Magician talks at the beginning. It just has a simple wiring that goes up on the stage, and into big monophones on either side made out of flower bells. Not anything fancy.

I have to disagree there, you see the Robopirates have the most advanced technology so far, they are like a bootleg of Skynet.
However I agree a microphone for Moskette is pretty much out of place, if it's not a kind of mock of a microphone.
And the art is really stunning.

But the robo pirates were just a nightmare of Polokus. And this game is before the robot pirates.
On another note, where is Moskette putting that microphone? The bottom of her head? Unless she's just holding it, not using it.
As a matter of fact, forget I said anything.

They couldn't be, they're not even from the Glade.

Look, you can't really argue about this, since it doesn't have to do with anything that has a valid answer.
Moskette's hobby is, well, singing of course.

It's kind of one of those things where she takes it out of nowhere and uses it.
Also the Robo Pirates invaded from nowhere, they didn't have anything to do with Polokus.
And Thanks Bloodgrey.

Now thinking about it, it would be awesome to hack inside the Robopirates A.I. to see them work and such, maybe a collective mind thing, an interface, like a pirate net, built up as a virtual reality, oh I got carried away, anyway I think it would be awesome to have such a game.

Great image, Rayfan!
About the microphone, it isn't necessarily out of place. Look at Eat at Joe's in Rayman 1, you had to turn on the electricity for Joe's neonlights to work there. And in Rayman 3 there are many devices build by the Teensies that are presumably powered by some sort of simple electrical circuit ( look at the timed switches in the Longest Shortcut for example ). Since a microphone is built from a electrical circuit that's quite simple too, it's not that out of place. If you really want to be on the safe side, you can give the microphone a more Teensie-ish appearance.
And that brings me to a thing I wanted to say earlier: Rayfan, follow Ephriokko's advice and build your storyline as a solid bridge from Rayman 1 to Rayman 2. Detail things such as how Rayman met Ly, Clark, Murfy and the rest of the gang. Also, put places like Globox's house and Ly's house in the game. That would be really awesome.

I'll try to do that as good as I can.
I'll probably have Clark, Murfy, and Globox and Ly as a "resistance group" you find against Dark Rayman. Clark being the strong one of the group, Murfy being the smart but annoying one, Globox being the comic relief with strange but sometimes useful powers such as the rain dance, and Ly being the leader. You''ll meet them in a sort of traveling group also destroying Dark Rayman's minions, but they think you're him, and then you have to fight Ly. After you beat her, you both come to the realization that you're on the same side and you explain things. Then, you team up as a group of five for the following level. At the beginning, Ly does her "come on" voice thing and shows you where to go. Then you take the lead once you're out and they follow you. As you go through the level, the five different characters will all have to use their strengths or talents at different points to get past different puzzles, and at any point in time, you can switch which character you're controlling.
Now if this raises multiplayer questions, the story mode definitely won't be co-op, due to the fact that that's one of the only points where you'll team up with other people, along with riding Moskito and meeting Raygirl.
How does that sound?

Orsum, thanks.
The levels I've thought of so far: (the order might change and many new ones slotted in)
The Dream Forest
Dream Forest Depths
Gemstone Temple
Windmill Hills
<- What I'm currently working on
Music Mountain
The Ice Volcano
Starlight Peak
Canyon of the Lost
Mount Kollapso
Glassdrop Grove
The Crystal Isles
Fort Night
The Box Factory
Darklands
The Final Act
If you noticed, it almost follows a similar environment to Rayman 1 in the first half... that was completely unintentional but kind of neat. Also keep in mind that there will in the end probably end up being aboot twice as many levels as currently listed. Here are some level facts:
• Windmill Hills is sort of an exit to the Dream Forest with stunning rolling hills and windmills side-by-side and a flowing river. It fades into Music Mountain in the same way the PC version of Rayman 1 does.
• The rolling hills of Music Mountain start turning abstract and you start seeing musical instruments sticking out of the ground and you can see huge organizations of instruments floating in the sky as well as tall harps in the distance. Once you reach the centre of the musical instruments, a giant clarinet sucks you up and launches you into the metropolis, the thing you saw int he TV video Rayfist made, as well as the pictures I've shown from previous music-world pictures.
• Starlight Peak is where you meet Raygirl. I've described it many, many times.
• Glassdrop Grove is where you save Moskito.
• At the beginning of The Crystal Isles, which is a bunch of small islands, you fly Moskito across the ocean and dodge piranhas. Dolphins will aid you by leaping in arcs and leaving water trails which guide you. If you fly through these, they act as boosts and heal you a smidgen.
• Fort Night is where you meet the resistance group consisting of Ly, Clark, Globox, and Murfy. Together, you solve consecutive puzzles and travel through a rickety wooden fort and help you infiltrate the Box Factory.
• Darklands is basically the epic final level of the game where you enter on a boat and you travel across rocky and dark-spirited landscapes with pillars of fire and underground earthquakes and such.
• Darklands and The Final Act are kind of like The Prison Ship and The Crows Nest in Rayman 2, how they're linked but are separate afterwards. I have a full description on The Final Act a few pages back.
ALSO I'm planning on giving Sabertooth1000000000 a full list of things that I want put in the first post since he started the topic, so people don't have to browse around all 45-ish pages to find what they're looking for.

Ooo! Someone else noticed my post!
Hrm... now on the topic of all of this, my brain is just begging to work on a storyline for this. Bad brain! You have enough stories to work on already! Stories you've been neglecting! D< *bonks self on noggin*
Yet again, when I look at the title, I find it kind of hard to take seriously... it doesn't really sound like the name of a serious game. 'Revenge of the Dark' doesn't really have a ring to it, and Rayman 1.5? Well... you could just give it a title that isn't numbered, although it would fit the trend if it did. I don't know, I always see it as "Rayman one-point-five Revenge of the Dark" and if you say that out loud it doesn't sound like an official game. And not very Rayman-ish either.

Maybe you could say 1 1/2 or something. "One and a half."
Urrrr... I wanna come up with an alternate title, but titles are always something I have troubles with. =P One of my biggest projects still doesn't even have a working name, after all! But I wouldn't make it something too serious or cliché. Try looking at the existing titles of Rayman games and going off that, maybe. Or use a vague metaphor-y title, instead of something as predictable as 'Revenge of the Dark.' Like.... uhhhh.... here's an assignment for ya, come up with a list of at least ten different themes or things for the story. 'Cause it can be used for the title; the second game has either 'The Great Escape' or 'Revolution', both of which fit the story very well(Revolution essentially means 'rebellion' or 'revolt', which Rayman & buddies are doing towards Razorbeard and his pirates, and escape... er... self-explanatory, he's kind of on the run from the pirates the whole time, like a renegade or something). Rayman 3 is Hoodlum Havoc, which is admittedly not all too meaningful, but yeah...
Aha, I think I know what I find the problem to be in my head! The title is too direct for the goal. You look at it and think "Oh. Must be killing something dark that wants revenge. Now I know the point of the whole game." It may have worked for Rayman 1 as a plot(and to be fair the title doesn't give any of it away), but these days complicated or surprising plots are appreciated more. There needs to be some kind of... twist or unexpected turn of events, maybe even more than once. Start with something the player will be expecting or automatically assume, and then turn it all on their heads. Don't use obvious foreshadowing, even though it's really hard not to(heck, I have trouble with it and strive very hard not to); aha, here's what I think is a great example,
Chekhov's Gun from
TV Tropes. In fact, that whole site is awesome and has stuff about writing fiction/stories and common themes and ideas used in them, and it's great fun besides. If you haven't gone there already I highly suggest it... but be warned that it sucks up your time like a vacuum.
*looks at your recent post about the stages* I think most of 'em look fine for a rough draft/concept(because anything can be refined or polished even if you like it right now), but 'Darklands' and 'The Final Act' are kind of cliché titles if ya ask me. Try coming up with something different there and I'm sure it'll sound a lot better.

I think 'The Final Act' is a great name. Entering that level would get the heart pounding.
And wow, all these years I thought the Robo Pirates were a nightmare

I think it's kind of like the Wii. It sounded really, really retarded at first, but now everyone's used to it. Such as, I'm not used to saying "Rayman one-point-five". It feels normal. Although I haven't been able to come up with a really better title. Do have any suggestions?
Also, Darklands, it may sound cliché, but it's pretty fitting if you combine it with the surroundings. I don't exactly know how to describe it very well without showing pictures. I've done a lot of the first Darklands area, but I still need a fair amount more cleaning and effects work until I can get what's in my head out.
Same goes for The Final Act I guess. Kind of what Paradox Juice said.
