PC and DC are definitely the 2 best versions of the game. The 3DS port is good too if you have a New 2DS or 3DS XL running Luma and let it overclock older games.

Oh yes, definitely. I haven't tried the Dreamcast version yet but I plan to eventually to see all the small details not present in the PC version.

I think the main reason for Revolution having so many votes is because:
1. Some people just like the idea of the hub and don't notice framerate drops. I can't stand low fps it just looks awful. Performance and gameplay is key to me.
2. PS2 was such a common console compared to the others. Everyone had a PS2 so that would have been the most played version.

While I liked the idea of the hub, the gameplay wasn't fun when I played, since as you said, I also noticed the horrendous slowdown, and it just kinda killed my hope of a good playthrough. That's why I switched my favorite game.
Curiously enough, I saw someone on YT who had a working version of RR that actually ran the way it should, maybe 2. Wonder how he did it though....

There's a thread in the modding section to use PCSX2 and get it to go 60fps with a genie code but you need a fairly powerful PC. Mine even still has little hiccups but it's far better than the PS2 handles it.

I'll check it out.
Tbh I haven't delved too deeply into the modding section compared to other areas.

One for gossip eh?
I want to try figure out how to get OBS to record Rayman 2 also. Aaron was looking to know and it seems to record a black screen for me too whether I use nGlide or WineD3D. I'll have to look into this.

Well gossip can only bring me so far into threads in that section
Some things have to remain serious.
I should try it myself in Bandicam tbh I haven't done so yet.

If bandicam does work let me know. The only way I can think to make OBS work is to use windowed mode and set OBS to Window capture mode or whatever it's called. I'll test it later.

YEah it's window capture mode. And yes I was able to get Bandicam to work when I put it on game capture mode, it automatically locked on. I'll post a video in a bit.
Here it is.
Hm oddly enough this was 1600*1200 and the quality is still at 360px. Hmmm.....not that it bothers me too much right now but it might later.

OK cool. It wouldn't work in full screen no matter what I had tried. I don't own the GoG version so it was better to have someone else test it. Of course if I use the nGlide dll it will be the same as GoG.

Ah, i see so that's how it goes. I want to do some more research on why my video only seemed to record in the maximum of 360px...hmmm..
But i'm too bushed right now to do anything else, so I'm probably gonna turn in early. Night all.

nGlide might have been set to 360p and that's probably likely what's wrong with the other person that's having a problem with the game. I'll test mine tomorrow.

Quite a few people do, but Humch and I love it! I think nostalgia plays a part in that…

There are indeed strong indications that the Iron Mountains was just a dump of maps they had left over after the rest were finished. For one thing, there's the fact that none of the map names begin with the same prefix. For another, there's the fact that they clearly intended to hang two cages in the "Reformatory" (there's an extra chain in a little alcove), but then had to take one out to bring the total back down to eighty.
I wonder if the fourth mask was originally to be found in the Tomb of the Ancients itself? It's been said before that the last room in the first part (before the 1000th lum) is too large and arena-like for the purpose it ended up serving, and the textures used in there are called "temple_delire", which lines up with the "temple_o", "temple_feu" and "temple_terre" textures used in the other sanctuaries.

So that empty chain I saw WASN'T just my imagination...

I wonder what "temple_delire" could be? From translating it seems that one of the likely names for this sanctuary could have been "The Sanctuary of Delirium"?????
I have an idea of what the other 3 are, but not this one.

Well, either that or the whole Cave of Bad Dreams was supposed to be a delirious nightmare. The textures for the door having the form of Jano's face are also under "temple_delire" for some reason.
Also, the "temple_terre" ones ended up being used in quite a few other places, like the place where the Teensies create the first spiral door in the Woods of Light.

Oh that space like area that Rayman could fall into without rescuing Teensies? I never actually knew those textures were possibly part of a temple/sanctuary. I kinda wonder what the game would have looked like if this 4th sanctuary existed within the game itself?

Well, the "temple_terre" is just the Sanctuary of Rock and Lava, but its textures are used in the Woods of Light too. The "temple_delire" bit is much more interesting.

Oops I didn't realize you said "temple_terre".
I'm more curious now why temple_o isn't called temple_eau. Hmmm.....but anyway!
