I'm assuming it's an optional thing for colleges to do or not, mine has opted to do it.

Meh, I guess it depends on how important education is to you and how much of a push you subsequently need, it's helpful to me, but I know others don't see the need for it.

In Germany we also still have that as well and our parents evening was just some weeks ago.Adsolution wrote:They still do that at your age? I thought that was an elementary school thing.Master wrote:- I have a Parents Evening at my college tomorrow, I hope my teachers have good things to say.

It's not a global thing to have it done in high school here, I haven't had any of those since grade six.

Hm, Grade Six is like our Year 7, is it not? Wow, Parent Evenings are a thing 'til we're out of High School, which is at 15/16.

- Movie on TV I supposed to watch is some horrible version designed for people with bad eye sight. No voice acting, just a narrator repeating in same tone what is happening.

I don't think my college has Parent/Teacher Meetings (as we call them here). I had them through secondary school, though (until I was 17).
Re: Pluses (+) and minuses (−) of this day.
+ Is gonna post here more since I am not watching that version of movie.

Hm, your secondary school lasts 'til you're 17/18? Interesting, ours lasts 'til 15/16.
Re: Pluses (+) and minuses (−) of this day.
Perhaps it depends on school?

Depending on the school wouldn't make any sense. It's a provincial/state/country system.
Doesn't secondary school last until you're 15/16 only in the UK? As far as I'm aware, nearly every other country has you in it for two years longer.Master wrote:Hm, your secondary school lasts 'til you're 17/18? Interesting, ours lasts 'til 15/16.

Yeah, the 17/18 remark was to SonicBrawler, mine does indeed last 'til 15/16.
Re: Pluses (+) and minuses (−) of this day.
I don't get out until I'm 19. Yeah.
- Parent evenings exist until you're out of High School here and they suck. Every time I have to endure rants about how my teachers told my parents I'm not sociable.
- Brother keeps pretending to care about me and tries to shove off things he's supposed to do on me by saying It'll make me "more independent."

I edited the post slightly, I meant to say "only in the UK?".Master wrote:Yeah, the 17/18 remark was to SonicBrawler, mine does indeed last 'til 15/16.
