Baby Globox look was ridiculous, and gave me a bad feeling from the moment I started up the game.

Otherwise, sure, RRR can be canon, but in that case why on earth would Origins not be??

Because the characters make no sense
How do you go from smart to dumbass in 1 game

What makes them smart in the first 3 games? I can tell you that Globox for certain is somewhat naive in Rayman 3. Still lovable though.

None of the characters were ever canonically intelligent. There's no such thing as canon in the Rayman series, you just piece things together if you want a story, and other than that, you just play the games and enjoy them. Being hyper also doesn't make anyone stupid, if that was the case then anyone with ADHD would be a moron.

I mean that they viseably dont act like in rayman 2/3 anymore
They are forgot how to speak for one
And remember that first trailer of origins?
They became friends after Slapping each other
Plus polokus just acts weird vompared to rayman 2
(Not in legends)
Murphy also lost his wittyness and sarcasm, and his loveableness in rayman 2
And the villan isnt really a threat that makes you want to go after him, hes just pops in last second and thats it
Basicly, i have an issue with origins storytelling and how the characters sudenly dont act like themself

Origins doesn't really have storytelling as far as i know. In fact I doubt most of Rayman's games have a very visible plot, with only Rayman 2 standing out.

I think in short Steo really puts it best here:

To me it sounds like you just have issues with the Ubiart characters in general, and that's ok too. You can correct me if I'm wrong ofc.

It's fine if he hates the UbiArt games, anyone probably would if you think of them from a canonical point of view. I love the artwork, music, and gameplay, which is enough for me to really enjoy the games.

Yea thats basicly it
I love rayman 1&2&3 for its characters and their loveable charm which origins compleatly destroys for me
Also fuck that the magician is sudddenly evil, that plain bullshit
I dont even like origin much
Legends is amazing though

What, and Rayman acts like Rayman 2/3 in RRR? I don't think he'd allow himself to be caged up for 15 days by silly bunnies, or get stuck in a hole and put up with sheep gathering around him. It's not even like the intro to Rayman 2 where he lost his powers. The Rabbids were never capable of taking his powers away, unless I missed something major.
StelzenBomber wrote: Thu Jul 09, 2020 8:08 amThey are forgot how to speak for one

Again, the trailer is not equivalent to released material in a game.
StelzenBomber wrote: Thu Jul 09, 2020 8:08 amPlus polokus just acts weird vompared to rayman 2

Well, in Rayman 2 he's been away in another dimension communing with other gods, basically since the beginning of time, whereas in Origins he's had years to learn to fit in with his own wacky people.
StelzenBomber wrote: Thu Jul 09, 2020 8:08 amMurphy also lost his wittyness and sarcasm, and his loveableness in rayman 2
Murfy already completely changed from Rayman 2 to Rayman 3, so another change isn't too jarring by any measure.

Yes, they screwed that up, but I still don't see why RRR is any better.

Im more talking about the GBA Rabbids
Not Wii
But i do still like rrr wiis story more, because you actualy have a reason to get something done and have a clear villan

I thought the Wii version was similar to the PC version of RRR? Or am I missing something, i havent played any version of RRR except the GBA one (in which I agree the story is pretty decent) but I'd be curious to try this version out too...
StelzenBomber wrote: Thu Jul 09, 2020 8:29 am

I see, so Origins is the only game you don't like. I do have to point out though that the playable characters in Legends maintain the same supposed lack of personality from Origins.

Yea
I know
I dont like origins for zhe gameplay more than the story/characters
And legends has a bit more of a "story"
But i just perfer legends levels and stuff
RRR on Wii and pc is the same, i just said WIi because thats the first one on my mind

Well, I imagine the Wii version is more fun given that the games were designed for that console.
But anyway, RRR GBA is a whole different kettle of fish, so now I think your opinion makes sense. Just be clearer in the future.

I like that they eventually realized that the original story for Origins was bullshit and that they cut most of it, but I wish they'd gone all the way and didn't leave any of it. Or was it because they lacked time? No idea here.

Isn't he a sinister character in the original game though? He makes sarcastic comments in the intro, and during the game he's just this guy who stands around and lets you into these tricky challenges, for a price. Also, he's used as the symbol of gendoors in the editor, which obviously isn't canon, but does suggest that at least some of the team had moral ambiguity in mind for him – gendoors bring good and evil in equal measure.

If we're going to talk about canon and storytelling in the Rayman series, didn't pretty much the entire cast, canon and setting change between the first and second main games?
