Re: Rayman Optimum
Double post alert!
So uh... what was the original release dates/order for all these Rayman games?
I know Rayman came first... what's after that? Designer, By His Fans and 60 Levels?
Also, the wiki says that the levels in Designer are called "Rayman's New Levels". Who would prefer that name instead of "Rayman Designer"?

Re: Rayman Optimum
As far as I know, the order is the following:
Rayman > Rayman Designer > Rayman Gold > Rayman 100 Niveaux > Rayman For Ever > Rayman Collector
I'm not sure thought if 100 Levels or For Ever are in the correct order but the others are.
Rayman > Rayman Designer > Rayman Gold > Rayman 100 Niveaux > Rayman For Ever > Rayman Collector

Re: Rayman Optimum
Rayman Designer came in 1997 after Rayman 1 being released in 1996 for PC. After that Rayman by his Fans came out in 1998 and Rayman 60 Levels came at last in 1999. Just check the original files. They still contain information about their creation dateTruner wrote:I know Rayman came first... what's after that? Designer, By His Fans and 60 Levels?

Re: Rayman Optimum
Sounds like a good idea. The build of DOSBox that is currently used in the Windows version of the project (SVN Daum) can utilize D3D shaders, the same type, for example, as ePSXe uses. In my opinion, variations of xbrz are best for Rayman 1.Truner wrote:So for now, I'll gladly take ideas, no matter what they are for, and some additional help. See, I don't know jack shit about DOSBox and how shaders work with it. I'd like to get a new set of shaders in, but don't know where to get them from. Some of the shaders would be dropped out of the project, as they feel really out of place (thinking about the likes of the Matrix one).
Also, be sure to use the SVN Daum build of DOSBox for the Linux and Mac OS ports, as other builds of the program are incapable of working with D3D shaders, and don't have as wide of a variety of video output methods. SVN Daum is also available for Linux and Mac OS, so this shouldn't be an issue.
I can test on a Hackintosh, but I don't have access to an actual machine. As Adsolution said, though, there's really no point in testing on a real Mac, since the stability of the OS won't affect testing at all.Truner wrote:Aside from that, I guess we might need some testers... first things first, we should make sure the Linux side of the project functions well. While I can test on Ubuntu 12.04 and 14.04, I'd rather focus on graphics and project management. As for Mac... if all else fails, I guess we can do some testing on Hackintosh as well, but I'd really prefer legit Macs doing the work. Uh, what else?

Re: Rayman Optimum
So when is the next release?
Re: Rayman Optimum
Thank you techno for these useful informations. Whatever says Truner, I'll probably need your help, or the help of someone that knows a bit about dosbox and these damn shaders. If someone thinks he can contribute to the project, I'd be glad if he sends me a PM.
I don't have any idea of the date of the next release, but I think it would take more than 2 weeks. And I have exams soon, so it may take even more time.

Didn't we already have this conversation? How it works fine for nearly everyone else? The Squishy Potatoe wrote:Okay but can the release have a download mirror, because mega sucks.
Update your browser and Java plugin, then try it.
Re: Rayman Optimum

My browsers and java plugin are fine, I think Lovemetal is going to do the mirror though.
Re: Rayman Optimum
I site that has compatibility issues, but no waiting time vs. sites that makes the users wait, but has less compatibility issues?
MEGA sucks on my end as well. Mediafire works every single time I use it.
That said, we will probably provide some mirrors besides the usual MEGA one, no worries.

Re: Rayman Optimum
Don't worry, I've got the MediaFire direct link handled. I'm just waiting for the next version to be released before I do so, unless people want said alternative right now for the current version.
Also, DropBox in my opinion should be used for its original purpose, not as a public file-hosting site. It does not work well for that.

Re: Rayman Optimum
No. Dropbox is great if you want to share a file with some people, not when you want to host an entire game with a whole forum, possibly more.Rayman fan2000 wrote:Jesus, just try DropBox. It's so much easier.
Using a public torrent tracker (without uploading it to sites) might be a good idea. I personally could try to keep it seeded from two places, to begin with.GeekOfTheGame wrote:Kickass for .torrents files ?
We should wait for the next version. But yeah, thanks for the MediaFire help!Adsolution wrote:Don't worry, I've got the MediaFire direct link handled. I'm just waiting for the next version to be released before I do so, unless people want said alternative right now for the current version.
