<'s Biology teacher said that, biologically, skipping breakfast isn't that bad, as long as the missed meal is compensated for at some other point in the day.
< wonders though if the ol' biological clock has no say in the matter.

< wonders how well the biological clock is understood in modern Science.
< has read about fluoride accelerating/causing calcification of the pineal gland and wonders if that is related (or even true).

<Brushes <'s teeth 3 times a day! that's a lot of fluoride!

< assumes that fluoride in toothpaste is all right as long as you don't swallow it.
Here in Ireland though, we fluoridate drinking water. < drinks a lot of tea, so < gets a rather high fluoride dose each day.
Plus, apparently, the tea plant is good at absorbing fluoride from the soil, so the tea leaves may be giving < a double helping. :confus:
< wonders if anyone else here lives in a place that fluoridates the water.

Well < lives in Ireland too, so < guesses < lives in a place that fluoridates water! :P

Wikipedia wrote:According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture, the Dietary Reference Intakes, which is the "highest level of daily nutrient intake that is likely to pose no risk of adverse health effects" specify 10 mg/day for most people, corresponding to 10 L of fluoridated water with no risk. (...) The lethal dose for most adult humans is estimated at 5 to 10 g (which is equivalent to 32 to 64 mg/kg elemental fluoride/kg body weight).
So basically you're alright with fluoridated water. Just don't swallow too much toothpaste. < doesn't know much about the relation to the pineal gland and your sleep cycle, though < seems to have the notion that fluor is a really nasty element that's quite radioactive for some reason, which makes < believe one could be correct in the assumption that more fluoride means less sleep or some such.
And all that is kind of ironic seeing as how healthy fluoride is in small doses - but then again, so is literally everything.Cyanide, a highly toxic poison, is actually extremely healthy for you in the right dosage and tends to prolong lifespan.
HOWEVER - that doesn't mean you should start mucking about with it and ingesting cyanide now, kids. :boon:

< honestly doesn't know how much water < drinks per day. < should really figure out some way to measure the fluoride concentration in <'s tea since it could be quite a bit higher than 1 ppm.
On a related note < would prefer if water was UV-screened rather than chlorinated and honestly doesn't see how one could be more cost-effective than the other. < supposes < is missing some obvious detail.
