In the GBC version, the fairies are actually the Tings, by the way.

I know, simply I said that are fairies because there the tings are called fairies on the flyer.

during the Mr. Skops battle, one of the scenarios has a Egyptian theme that contrast with the theme of the world itself that is a cave. possibly The Cave of Skops was intended to be a world with Egyptian theme. in-fact there an Egyptian concept art that looks similar to the Loading screens.

An Egyptian theme? If you're talking about the constructions in the background during the final battle, the onion domes are actually a feature of Mughal architecture (Russian Orthodox churches too, but that's clearly not the intention here), and have been associated with the Middle East in popular culture despite not being that popular there. As for the vaguely pyramidal structure in the middle, it does not resemble anything Egyptian that I know of.

I can't explain it, but I find the Rayman Advance version of the soundtrack so satisfying. I honestly listen to it more than the original soundtrack. It's just so pleasing in some way.

After audio cleanup, or in the original, ear-bleeding rendition? :hinhinhin:

I trust Droolie uploaded the high quality one on RayTunes.

Hmm, I might take the challenge of listening to the original. Can't be that bad, right? :noel:

Hey, I noticed something in Picture City. The colors of the pencils are randomized. This might be useless to say but still. :o

I have this vague memory of trying to make a Rayman Designer level with pencils of specific colors and being particularly annoyed after reloading the scene and finding out they were all mixed up now, but maybe it's my brain making this up? :fou2:

I was looking through some gaming magazines for betas and cancelled games. I stumbled across some Beta Rayman content for the Atari Jaguar in Diehard GameFan Issue 21. I don't know if they were posted on the wiki yet, but I thought this would be interesting to share or at least put in the Rayman (early production) article on Raywiki. There's more on Raywiki, but I didn't want to double post.

There's some really cool stuff in here, especially with regard to enemies. I remember seeing that scrapped carnivorous plant before, but on pictures 1 and 3 you can also clearly see what appears to be early, differentiated antitoons, as well as those enemies from the SNES version that were carried over to the Jaguar beta and finally scrapped as well:

The carnivorous plant looks like an evolved form of the flower to the bottom-left of the sprite sheet, and both remind me of this:

So I'm wondering if it was an enemy that could blend in with the environment and jump out if Rayman got too close. Kinda like Ryemanni's Little Lividstones wearing flower camouflage, except genuinely a plant.

Naturally, I'm glad it was scrapped :hap:

I do wonder what they were trying to achieve with that. Were they really so proud of that one sprite? :hap:

Nicely spotted! Though, unlike you, I did like the carnivorous plants in Rayman Junior, so I'm sad this was scrapped. :(
