<'s server has been very sluggish lately, < wonders if it's to do with the effort of serving this signature to everyone who visits PC…

But < suspects that lights in cinematics and in the actual game scenes often switch around just to bring out a nice atmosphere.

However, anything that rotates or isn't world geometry (i.e. uses a model) is basically fullbright. < points out that the most prominent example is the rotating platforms in the Cave of Bad Dreams, which look starkly contrasted with the blue of the rest of the room, while actually using the same texture!

< put a lot of effort in getting the right angle of Umber for the Wiki, < is not amused by this insult.

< was just saying that the lighting systems in the engine are interesting, as someone who has dabbled in game modding before.
< says it's basically light on things that move, or light that moves.
< may have been a bit hasty in saying "fullbright", but the shading is definitely inferior.

< was directing the insult part to Roles, it was meant to be humorous as a counterjab to his remark, but < apologises about the shabby approach.

Ah. < feels silly now.
< realises now that models are definitely not fullbright, but they are not shaded in colour either… < thinks < may have oversimplified <'s thoughts on this.
< wonders whether the ULR topic or some other topic would be a more appropriate place to discuss this.

< might not comprehend all of this stuff, but < is more than happy to hear ^'s thoughts on the subject in the ULR thread, should ^ feel better suited there.
