If by barrel pirates you mean ones that throw barrels, I'm pretty sure PC version has an invincible one. In case you mean ones in barrels, they are already covered I believe.

You can:
Shoot their stilts with the Vortex fist and kill them on the ground
Shoot their stilts with the Vortex fist so they land in harmful substances
Run underneath them so another Stumbleboom or Hoodboom knocks the stits off, then kill them from there
Run underneat hthem so another Stumbleboom or Hoodboom knocks the stilts off, then run around them until a Hoodboom or Stumbleboom throws a cocktail at it
