This Record Day? Probably - < thinks he hit around 1,500 last year (but < can't for the life of him manage to find the final standings thread Hunch made a while back to recheck that statement).

< has heard many extreme reviews on it with one side saying "We needed this movie so beautiful" while the other side says "It's glorified garbage"

< is also not fond of John Green who has said some rather bullshit things

Oh. Well, alright, views differ.

<'s been following the Green brothers on YouTube for a while and they appear to < as very likable people - < wonders what in John ticked ^ off (though ^ doesn't need to elaborate if she doesn't want to).

Most of what <'s heard are just stories although < came across a piece where he said something along the lines of "Screw pointing out sexism and other issues in media, just ignore them and enjoy the media".

Of course while < thinks it's alright to enjoy something without picking at all of it's flaws (some might be as extreme as sexism) < believes that you shouldn't disregard them at all and just shove them under a "who cares" rug

Listening to the way he talks for all these years, < finds that an incredibly un-John way of saying things. If this message is along the lines of what he said at some point, it's probably been horribly paraphrased. He's all about respect for others, others' opinions and he wouldn't be one to just shove problems aside.
That said, < is open to discussion; if ^ could show me where he said this, <'d start to think very differently about mister Green.

< is not the most open for discussion about this as < already shattered the hopes and dreams of a friend who was also a fan of him but devastated to see that

Oh. That sounds like misinterpretation to <. He literally says "Yes, you can read that into it if you like" meaning "well, I didn't mean it, but there you go, interpretation is all yours. If that's what you want to read in it, then that's what you read in it. But hey, others have seen other things."
He's basically addressing the point that some readers have read misogynistic subthemes into TFIOS and accused him of being sexist. Then he goes 'what the hell' in his head and responds to that with a 'well, if that's what you think I wrote, by all means...'

Anyway, <'s not here to defend John. < was merely interested in what ^ thought.
