I found pictures of the very early Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc game, when it was still being worked with the original idea and with the Rayman 2: The Great Escape style. I just find a real pity these have low resolution:

I intended to upload the 3rd picture, the Hoodmonger had an earlier texture. The level structure was a bit different too.

It's the Hoodlum Factory - the one with the hidden room in it where there's a recreation of the 'Last Supper' painting, except with Robo-Pirates from R2.

Aren't the textures different? Well,at least I'm sure the lava is different.
I'd have loved they had kept the R2 design
