< tells that ^ is wrong, because < is not sure, but as far < knows, Elgato, such as HDPVR and Avermedia don't accept PS1 original console, unless ^^ (two ^ because it's 2 post) uses psx games on his PS3 so < is wrong

That's why < added an upscaler to fix that issue plus get better picture thanks to the RGB signal.

Most capture cards can accept 240p via composite, but < would still recommend going for a higher-quality signal, like RGBs or component. < thinks that "real PS1s" suck whale cock anyway, and that PS2s are basically the most reliable players of PS1 games, and they also have extra features like texture filtering and Fast Disc Speed 4sanic.

If you have a powerful enough PC, it could be even better to record stuff by using an emulator, a video recording software such as Fraps/Action! and a pad.

emshomar and < have been down the emulator route many times, both of us being fairly adept at fixing problems and the like, and through that experience we have gathered that using original hardware is almost always better, as emulators, however major or minor, always have issues. This is especially true in the case of PS1 emulation, where each emulator has its own fairly notable quirks, most of them being rediculously inaccurate. Take Rayman 1, for example. If you run it on an emulator like ePSXe, the CDDA music doesn't work at all without a special plugin, and, even then, the TOC often isn't read correctly, there are occasional graphical glitches, and sound artifacts, just to name a couple of issues, yet if you run it on a PS1 or PS2, it runs perfectly.

In short, software emulation is far from perfect at this juncture, and most people would much rather see a recording from an actual system than graphical glitches on an emulator.

< can definitely agree with ^. Emulators just are not perfect at all. Graphics may be pretty, but < found that most of the time you'd either have stability issues or audio issues, or some audio just doesn't sound right at all.

< Even noticed that the PS3 doesn't do PS1 games right fully either.

< just finished watching the Smash 3DS tournament, there was some Wii U gameplay in between (and they mostly focused on Rosalina during that <3), and there were a lot of Bowser players in the tournament. Heck, the finals was a Bowser ditto.

Both games look really good at 60FPS though.
