I listened to nothing but Coldplay for about a half year because I was dumb.Adsolution wrote:What band was that?Keane wrote:It's amazing to think how just about two and a half years ago I listened to one band and that was it.

I still prefer the Blue Room EP in every way. In fact, the Blue Room version of Don't Panic is my favourite Coldplay song:Keane wrote:Even if it's not their strongest work or is something I listen to with equal detail as their later albums, Parachutes is just the perfect album to play in the background. Very relaxing and always a good friend for homework, late nights or whenever I don't feel right.

Oh yeah, it's a brilliant version. Blue Room sounds a little too much like a young band that isn't sure what their style is yet and songs like Bigger Stronger have really cringe worthy lyrics... though some parts of Parachutes are just like that too. But at least there's songs like Trouble that do stand out. Either way it's some of their weakest work, but I would still pick it over Mylo Xyloto without thinking twice.Adsolution wrote:Rarely have I ever heard a song understand atmosphere so well as this one. Why they decided to take the direction they did in the Parachutes version I don't know, but, ironically, Parachutes feels more like the EP than this does.
