but I don't think it's official.
Hunngg??!!! I went into the game, battled the boss and managed to trip him up FORWARDS. I had never seen that before so I went back to do it again - took some screens, cropped out Rayman so it wouldn't be huge and here we are. It's as 'official' as in-game footage gets! Oh, yes, then I looped the parts that looped best and the result is this animation. For some reason some images had taken images of unrendered parts of the game world. For example, one image had only the ring of the Crow's Nest, but not Rayman, nor any UI, or the grate covering the playing field! These images were removed. However, there is one image inbetween my animation where one of these inbetween rendering stages was captured, but it was quite crucial to smooth movement of the Grolgoth, so I kept it in. You can distinguish it because Rayman's health bar suddenly disappears - and this is offscreen, but so did his hair!

So you made the gif? Thx for proving my point

because I wasn't 100% sure on that.

Well, first I made the screens, then I made the PNG, then the PNG can't animate so I turned it into GIF, yes. I can give you a link to the pic inbetween rendering with the hairless Rayman, if you want.

I think you're wrong because I've seen some animated .PNG files. I don't know how that person did that, though. And Mozilla Firefox and the newest Opera browsers displays those files correctly, as far as I am aware.
Now I know - it's thanks to a Firefox plug-in and the real format is called .aPNG, though everywhere it's shown as a simple .PNG file. That's because it's an unofficial extension to the original format. If you want to know whether your browser supports the .aPNG files or not,
go here.
And please, do post it because I'd like to see bald (sp?) Rayman!

Yeah, I remember making a PNG animated too - though I can't figure out how to do it anymore, now. Ah well.
Right, as requested, here's the picture in between the animation, which isn't completely rendered. It shows Rayman with no hair, though not from an interesting position (from the back), though it gives some insight into how the game renders - models first, textures later, actual level parts (like floor) after that and last: details like hair. Well, at the very last I would expect UI and stuff, but still.

Not 'embedded' because it's just too large, and it wouldn't show up correctly (sides would be cut off).

There are two animation extensions to PNG, and apparently this is like Blu-ray vs HD DVD with exception of "battle" being stagnant and GIF winning.

Went to London yesterday and found a Rayman 2 strategy guide for the N64 version of Rayman 2. It features a full guide of the game as well as information on the cast. The best bit is the fact that the whole thing is printed in full colour on glossy pages with nice illustrations. They're not exactly 'rare' so to speak, as I have heard other mentions/sales of it on the internet (although no others with a cover like the one I found), but I'd thought I'd share anyway.
Forgive the atrocious image quality, the only way I can get photos currently is via webcam and Windows Movie Maker
Cover:
Inside:
"Lums, Lums, Magical Lums":
Another Rayman themed...umm....'thing'...that happened was I observed that the voice on the Victoria Line of the London Underground sounds
exactly like Betilla the Fairy's voice in the Rayman educational games (Rayman Junior etc.). I wouldn't be surprised if Betilla's voice in the game was her, as she does do lots of voice-overs, and has the perfect voice for an educational title (clear spoken, which is perfect for small children, as well as for non-English speakers, which is perfect for English with Rayman). I have no proof of my theory though

I've got the Prima one though this one's a completely different cover - usually it's the same cover as that of the PS1 version of the game.

Prima guides are usually the best ones, I believe. Too bad there aren't full scans of the strategy guides for storing issues.

I was playing with my new scanner's settings and scanned some pages from Polish game magazine, where's review of Rayman 3... Want me to upload 'em here?

Maybe there's nothing new, but always

(oh yes, could you tell me does it look good on your screens? looks like mine tends to screw up saturation)

I have that one too! It's cool, the magazine (a different issue though) also made a solution for Rayman 2 and it came along with the game. Thus I became a Rayfan (OK, sorry for that, Rayfan

)

I've never seen the one with the Stumbleboom on it on page 5 before.
Is there anything interesting content-wise in there?

Well...
- Paluchard called tentacle

- small interview with Bartosz Wierzbieta (that guy translated from English to Polish some movies like Shrek and Ice Age - dude is gooood, I'm tellin' ya, but he overdid some game dialogues alittle)
- (a bit sugary) review about PC version only (the final... grade? was 4.95/6 - it's something like B-; so low because of screw'd controls)
There's only very little information about gameplay. In magazine there's also semi-walkthrough (how to beat some bosses, how some washing powder cans work etc.), I didn't scan it, because I forgot about it ._.
