Question 2: Pirates were quite hostile and violent people. Nowadays when we refer to such-minded people, we can call them derogatory names such as "vandals". Where does this term come from? Why do we call people vandals or certain things to be "vandalized" when they're intentionally broken?

I don't require a long answer of any sort, the point will go to the first person that explains to me what vandals were and/or what they were known for.

Presumably, Vandals are people who purposefully damage things and are known for… damaging things
