Neat, but isn't a VR Rayman very likely to make you dizzy, though?

Certainly looks that way from the demo, but I'm sure there are improvements that could be made. That inability to get up to the top of the climbing walls is pretty nightmare-fuel-ish though!

Rayman VR huh? Does sound like a good idea in my opinion.

The early models of Ly and Razorbeard look like Happy Meal toys .
Heh, I had wished the McDonalds Happy Meal set would have included Razorbeard.

Yeah, it clearly reminds me of those dreams where you can't run.
Interestingly, I never knew until yesterday that Spitfire had a mod for Rayman 2 called Ray2Fix, where you just copy over some files, then run a configurator to set the resolution, which also allows either windowed or full screen.
The only problem is that I'm having issues trying to get dgVoodoo working on Linux (it worked before, so I'm sure it's something simple). Other than that, it saves a lot of hassle if anyone ever needs to use windowed mode for example.

Sounds intriguing! Maybe now I can finally use memory-editing tools like Raymap locally, without needing SSH and/or VNC to avoid switching away from the game!

Looks like a pretty nice tool, I think it deserves its own topic so as to be better known!

Oh yeah, I saw that video being shared on Twitter a while ago - some people from the Rayman community shares some interesting stuff there and I would recommend to check out. .

I hadn't been on Twitter for a while so I hadn't seen it. I thought it was worth mentioning here to let others know about it too, since it's pretty handy.

Robin just posted a great video about the anti-piracy protection in Rayman 2:
We've all encountered the dreaded pirate face at least once, but I had no idea that the game itself was broken on purpose!

I've seen it, really interesting video actually. It's actually amazing as to how many objects/obstacles were removed or broken throughout the game. It really does some very interesting things that you wouldn't expect.

I knew about a few of the missing platforms. I just assumed that it refused to load the rest of the level beyond where the Pirate Head appeared. I had no idea that there were 79 specific evil alterations! I guess that explains why certain Purple Lums show up funny in Raymap then!
I wonder if the people who came up with these were the same creatively sadistic people who designed the wrong-answer traps in the Educational Rayman games…

Yeah, it's really cool how it affects many different types of things - objects, parts of the level, events. It's almost like a slightly different, deliberately incomplete level set plays when the CD is not detected.

That all sounds like a lot of work for something that is, in the end, easily bypassed. I must however acknowledge that going so far as to replace a skull platform with an entire wall is a more than commendable effort.

That, or the fact that the floor is completely missing during the Foutch battle, so you just die over and over.

Why doesn't Foutch fall as well, though? That's kinda unfair.

Yeah true, there's some sort of conspiracy theory going on here...

Well, Foutch always flies, right? Not sure if there's much of a conspiracy there.
Now I'm really captivated by the idea of a 3D Educational Rayman game where the wrong answers punish you with alterations like these.
EDIT: By the way, the skull platform turning into a wall probably isn't as hard as it looks. Apparently, the skull and wall models are two different states of the "matos_volcan" family, and the wall is the default. Whatever code runs there probably just forces it back to its default state.
