Not to bring the seemingly hated FPSes into this, but the Halo franchise works like this. It goes Halo Reach, Halo-future title Halo Anniversary, Halo 2, Halo 3-Halo 3 ODST, future title Halo 4 (H3 and ODST are simultaneous; Halo Anniversary is a remake of Halo 1). Because Reach is based earlier than Halo 1, but was made after Halo 3, they had to come up with another way to name it. They can't just call it Halo 0 - that would be weird.

I do wonder if Ancel plans on doing more Rayman. I'm sure he's not through with the character yet, but I'm unsure as to if he and his team will get enough ideas together to make another Rayman title. Hear us talking! Origins is just out, or round the corner for Europe and we're already talking about a next game.
I don't think you understood what he meant. He meant that the they could skip a number, implying that Origins is a "4." There was still a Halo 4 after Halo 3, that's not skipping a number.

Games like MW3 are considered fun because they attract the quick and shabby; those who don't have a large interest in video games but for some reason play all the time and call themselves "gamers."

Yes – for example, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is often referred to as Call of Duty 6, even though the fifth game, Call of Duty: World at War, did not have a ‘5’ in its title.

Why is everyone talking about the next game when Rayman Origins has barely come out (by which I mean not at all here in Europe)?

Is everyone really that greedy for more? ;)

Yup, we wish the franchise to return to it's prime, like the good ol' days.

Don't you think that it's a bit sad that you wait for a game eight years, and then you rush the whole thing in three days? I'm taking my time, observing every detail, listening to the music, and playing at a normal pace.
What are you talking about? Even though I got 100%, im still observing the game, still doing co-op and still having fun. Why would I just STOP playing the game? I'm observing everything I can my dear friend

I also remember to wait for Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc for 2 years and when I got the game, I finished it in 3 days or something. But that didn't stopped me from playing it again, and besides I'm going to get 2 versions of Rayman Origins at the same time.

This is exactly my point ^
Us rayman fans dont just stop at 100% raytunes, we keep on going and going through the levels again and again to find references. 8)

RayWiki requires replaying too by the way. Hopefully after I beat the game at least once, I'll be able to return to the RayWiki and help out with the articles.

^once again, ANOTHER good example.
So we play through it again despite getting 100% it's not going to stop us from playing, we will keep going and going, making better time trial scores, finding small references, or HELL just replaying levels for the fun of it, this game is such a beauty.

Oh boy, if ubisoft releases ubiart framework for public, it would be epic if it was called “Rayman Designer 2” and included 20 new levels of pure Rayman Origins awesomeness :D Obviously, you would be able create your own backgrounds and characters. Characters from rayman origins would just be included as a bonus.

…Actually…the ubisoft crew is watching us, right? UBISOFT, PLEASE, RELEASE RAYMAN DESIGNER 2 AS A FREE DOWNLOAD!! REMEMBER: 20 NEW LEVELS!!

Mario Kart 7 is another excelent example.
