If you still have that magazine, don't hesitate to get a scan of the pages in question, it would be good to have a decent quality of those early screenshots to upload to RayWiki. If not, well, this will have to do!

I was unsure whether or not to start a new thread for discussion here....but as its Rayman 2 related, Im guessing it might be best to discuss this here instead.
So I knew this for a while but it only really dawned on me recently. If anyone here has watched the original/first release of Men in Black 1997 (yes the one with Will Smith)....it may be easy to miss that the opening titles actually contains about 10 to 15 seconds of the main theme from Rayman 2. You can clearly hear it play around the 0.37 sec mark below.
Now what's interesting is that Rayman 2 came out in 1999...MiB came out in 1997....I wonder if Ubisoft actually carried this small section in the film's ost for their own, or were inspired by it, to recreate the theme we know today for R2?....or if its just a coincidence. Either way, its a very interesting fact to think about...What do you think?

Oh boy, definite Whale Bay vibes there… Apparently Danny Elfman composed that. I guess Éric Chevalier was heavily inspired by him – looks like it's been noticed before: viewtopic.php?p=1124970#p1124970
The funniest thing was that a Danny Elfman tune (the Edward Scissorhands theme) made it into the Rayman 3 files unlicensed. Probably because they were using it as a placeholder for the Fairy Council and forgot to delete it.

That's no coincidence here, the resemblance is striking! Great find, Sevy!

That part from MIB 1997 really sounds like a part from the R2 credits (min. 1:29):
I wonder if there is an official statement regarding Éric Chevalier being inspired by Danny Elfman.

The explanation is probably a bit mundane. Composers often use sample packs in their compositions so they probably just happened to use the same sample.

Yeah I think I recall hearing before that they used a Roland for a lot of these samples.

I finally translated what the french text in the cancelled 2D prototype of Rayman 2 says! from Google Translate.

I don't think there is a general thread for Rayman crafts, so I'll leave this here:

Haha, this is pretty cool!
And by the way... am I the only one to find this proper creepypasta material?

That's pretty scary, specially if you see it without context .

I think we could an emote out of it. Or a signature. Or even a special theme for the forum. I just think it has a lot potential, actually.

Wow, that's beautiful! Ironic that the guy was on about N64 the whole time, but the music and audio clips were from the PC version

This is obviously something I did not notice at all.

I had an idea to try to beat Rayman 2 Revolution Without Hovering, and it ended up being an absolute journey! I had documented my journey in this video if you're interested. Someone on r/Rayman suggested I post this here
This is insane, and strangely informative. Great job!

Amazing stuff, NGPlus! I'm really impressed by how much research you've put into this, and how long it took you. It's no surprise that the result is an impressive... well, I won't spoil it for our readers, and I'll let them watch the whole thing themselves.
You also did a great job at explaining the different steps in the whole process, and some of the solutions are really creative.

Thank you very much, sorry for the late reply
