Ripping sprites from Rayman Forever (PC)

Anybody knows a program or something to rip sprites from Rayman Forever from the PC version?

So far my method is by using frabs and dosbox by slowing down the game with the CTRL F11-F12 but it would be easier if it would freeze frames for fbf method but I don't think it's possible and I don't know if there is a program out there to rip sprites from Rayman Forever for the PC version, so if there's a program I'd like to download it so I can have some useful sprites from the game.

I'm sure the sprites from Rayman 1 have already been ripped by many other people. I don't have a download link but I'm sure a Google search for "Rayman 1 sprites" will get you what you want.

Sadly, it's not perfect and all of the sprites are missing their black parts because the background is also black. I'm planning to do new version from this thought.

Yes but most of the sprites that are ripped are those of Rayman, I need other sprites like the trumpet sprites and some other enemies from either the PC or PSX version, the gba version doesn't compare to the PC/PSX version imo, which is the only one which has other then Rayman that is ripped.

Also Raymanni that link is invalid :/ I cannot download it.

That image does include most of the sprites and that thread has alot of sprite resources, still do you use tools or my method is the only way to rip sprites? as in take screenshots of frozen frames?

They were not ripped by me but by Drolpiraat. I'm not sure what tools he used but he could apparently rip textures out of a PlayStation 1 emulator savestate. That's not the same as making screenshots - he got the real sprites.

I see, the sprites from what he has submitted are of great quality, I don't know how they are different from the pc but I doubt they are very different, I'l use his method there.

TextureFinder for the psx version or does it work with the PC version? (Ray Forever) either way I'l google it and give it a try.

I was using Texturefinder with the PSX version, because the graphic files are just lying on the disc.

Right, I'm new to using tools so far for sprite ripping but I'l search for tutorials for using TextureFinder or any tool that I find, so far all I get are weird colours when I load the cue file(PSX version) on TextureFinder, still thanks for the help.

You have to use the right palette, in this case Rayman 1 palette. Then you have to put off vertical flip, and stretch the image to it's real size.

I think you are doing it right, but you are using different program so I may not be correct, but you should use the Rayman 1 palette. http://www.mediafire.com/?4bjmu7a1zcbcsvx That's the one I use, but it's still not perfect, but you can rip most of the sprites with it.

Thanks :D you got the palette from a screenshot you made? just in case I want to rip other 2D games? either way this will help.

For some reason that didn't do much good, I exported the file and opened it in Gimp and imported the palette you gave me to the sprites, it didn't do much, oh well, I'l see if I can try to assort the colours to make it as close to the original sprite as possible, since I think it is almost impossible to get the correct palette and you have to edit the palette yourself with an external program :/

Then load up the texture file, put off Vertical flip. Don't forget to select "8Bits (256 col)" from the Pixel bit format section, then press Load Palette from the window that appears and load the palette I send to you. ;) I hope that helps.

Woah I almost got it correct now after pointing the palette/colourmap cursor at some colours at the lower-right corner of the savestate, yeah just a few more things and I'l be done with these sprites, I'l submit them somewhere soon once I got this down, thanks for everything btw raymanni.
