OK wow you got me. Probably best to play all versions so since they all vary. After playing for a bit though you usually see past the graphics and realize there's a great game in there.Ray502 wrote:Moving part of a conversation from the Rayman 1 topic here.
I have the PS1 version of Rayman 2, and I do enjoy it. The graphics are indeed heavily downgraded, but there's exclusive stuff like full voice acting (including the guardians of the masks), a different battle of the Grolgoth and the playable prototype level of the cancelled 2D version of Rayman 2.Steo wrote:Nice. Chances are I'm never going to play the great escape on PS1 anyway since that and N64 would be the worst versions. Clearly the PC, PS2 and Dreamcast versions are much better. As long as I don't get a platinum disc of Rayman 1 I don't really mind too much

Very true. There are other changes big and small but seeing as how you have never played the version I don't want to spoil everything. You won't be disappointed.

I'll be sure to pick up a copy of itRay502 wrote:Very true. There are other changes big and small but seeing as how you have never played the version I don't want to spoil everything. You won't be disappointed.
I loved the first game and then just went so long without playing it expecting them to ruin the series like what they usually do to games. I honestly loved every one of the games. Getting origins for free on Xbox gold is what got me into it again. I'd say I missed out but I actually didn't because I get to play them all now and they feel like new games to me
I'll play every version of them all anyway except maybe not the N64 one. Don't tell me that one has something else too

Actually I don't know much about that version. I briefly played it once on an emulator years ago but never got around to play it since then.Steo wrote:I'll play every version of them all anyway except maybe not the N64 one. Don't tell me that one has something else too
Although with research, the soundtrack is in MIDI format. Pretty much it I guess. Nothing like the PS1 version judging from that.

Yeah N64 games were tiny. Like some games were 10mb. Since the ps1 and ps2 versions are that different I will play both. I can't believe the difference in graphics comparing ps1 and Dreamcast though. Didn't realise it was that much more powerful.Ray502 wrote:Actually I don't know much about that version. Still though they say graphics don't make a game
Edit: Looks like I'll have plenty of time to finish Rayman 2 on Dreamcast first anyway. Lots of snow here in Ireland so I doubt I'll be getting my games in a hurry
Edit 2: Just played that chair level and I kept getting killed on purpose then still missed one lum at the end. I knew I could shoot from the chair though because I seen it on this forum
Nothing worse than missing ONE Lum. I'd rather miss 2 than 1.

Ah yes, I've been there before in the past where I missed one Lum and got a little bit frustrated because I couldn't figure out where it was. Thankfully though in Revolution the Lums Rader can be used, albeit Rayman acquires it near the later stage of the game. Unfortunately that's not the case at all in the other versions.

Re: Rayman 2
Suppose then it makes sense to collect everything in that version of the game when I get it. I'm probably gonna try collect everything in all versions but with the amount of time I'll have to put into it to do that I'll have to just pick one and stick to it for a while.Ray502 wrote:Ah yes, I've been there before in the past where I missed one Lum and got a little bit frustrated because I couldn't figure out where it was. Also have to check out the PS3 version of that Rayman 1 game properly and see if I get that music glitch. I'll get back to you about that in the Rayman 1 topic though.

Re: Rayman 2
"For smaller offenses he would just use his belt instead" Damn that's still horrible, my dad had anger issue and was often violent with me when I was kid and that was probably due to how unnhappy he was. But he get better each day also now I'm an adult he won't try anything but I understand him and I forgave him also because my grand father was a violent drunkard and so he never really had a good father (thankfully my grandmother was cool and she left with all the kids ) people often tend to reproduce the education they had because they had litterally no other model and having a violent father was a common thing, thankfully it's more and more rare nowadays#Rubber mark# wrote:Thanks for the kind words, buddy! There's another bait-and-switch I remember doing the rounds more recently, something in regards to some wrestling stuff.

Re: Rayman 2
Well, I sure do have my fair share of jumper cables. Truck ones, car ones, motorbike ones, depends on what I feel like receiving that day. It's got absolutely nothing to do with the fact we own a variety of different vehicles.

Re: Rayman 2
It took me until I seen "Jumper cables" mentioned about three times to realise what people were doing and then I felt dumb. I was like an idiot thinking that's taking child abuse to a new level
Wrestling was great back in the day

I literally didn't get it at all until I read a story about a Wii falling on a PS2 and damaging their anniversary copy of Rayman M and their dad beat them with jumper cables. At least now I know to expect that stuff on here
