I think you should stop wasting time with her and look for someone else. She is not worth it. At least you still have your pride and if she changes her mind later and decides to go with you, you should then say no just to show that nobody can hurt you just like that.

Awwwh, Brad...
Yes, the healthy thing to do is move on. It can be hard to end romantic feelings, but a one-sided relationship is no relationship at all. I'm so sorry it happened the way it did, that's painful.

Maybe she was nervous or unsure herself and didn't mean to hurt Brad at all, you don't know. You can't jump to conclusions about someone's character over something so incredibly vague.OldClassicGamer wrote:Now this is just wrong in every single way. For many it can be a bit of a tightrope to walk. Of course, none of us know the full picture and it's not for us to speculate - we just need to provide Brad with all the virtual tubs of ice cream he needs.

Sorry though Brad, that sucks. I can't say I know rejection, I never asked anyone out in my life, but I admire the fact you actually gave it a shot. It was something I could never do but I was incredibly fortunate and had the girl I liked actually like me in the end, so she ended up asking me out. It's usually the other way around but man am I grateful because she's definitely help me overcome a lot of negativity that you guys might have seen from me on the forums in the past. To be honest though I do think Brad being blown off in the end was a bit unfair. I know it's a rather pressuring moment but she could easily say she couldn't hang out that day or anything else rather than being ditched on last minute. I can't say I know whether she really liked you or not Brad- were you guys friends at all? I usually find it's best to really wait those things out until we're like really good friends.

- I always feel somewhat apprehensive and nervous when exams are coming up, while I do feel some nerves, I feel like I'm a little too calm at the same time, while that might be a positive, I kinda wonder if I'm not taking it all too seriously subconsciously.

Re: Pluses (+) and minuses (−) of this day
It's not wrong at all. Maybe I did ask way too early on this and might have made her nervous as well. Like I stated, she might have not wanted to hurt my feelings and I can understand that. Though, I would have much preferred an honest answer. And I would never say no to her like that. That's pretty cruel for me and I'm not that kind of guy.OldClassicGamer wrote:Now this is just wrong in every single way. She shouldn't have first said yes and then no. But it is her loss anyways.

It is pretty unhealthy, but deep inside me I know I still would like to have a platonic relationship with her. She was an interesting gal, but now I feel like I wrecked that. Hopefully when I have the courage to message her again, I'll add that.Jewish Candy wrote:Awwwh, Brad...Yes, the healthy thing to do is move on. Exactly. I don't want anyone of us to feel pressured. I would have respected her answer anyway it went.Adsolution wrote:Maybe she was nervous or unsure herself and didn't mean to hurt Brad at all, you don't know. Agreed. Even I don't know how she really feels. And no ice cream for me. Pizza is my only love now.Jewish Candy wrote:In support of this, I will say that when a guy asks you out there is a general pressure to 'give him a chance' and 'avoid hurting his feelings'. Yeah, it does kind of suck. This has been my second try asking someone out and getting rejected. It's very stressful to ask somebody out, but it does get a load of my chest. But like I said, I would have preferred an honest answer. And yeah, she was a friend. Ever since last year, we've been friends and I've been talking to her a lot since October, and we had some really good conversations.Rayfist wrote: Sorry though Brad, that sucks. I guess, but I had to take this shot sooner or later. I did ask her to go to a family trip with me since I had an extra ticket and I thought it would have been a good first date. I took the chance and though I'm not quite happy with her vague answer, I'm still glad I went for it.Hoozang wrote:- I'm sorry Brad. I know it feels really awful now, but, it is what it is. Thanks everyone for the support. I guess I should give this love thing a break and focus on more important things like my art, job, school, and learning to drive. Thanks once again.
