Speed up Firefox

From
http://www.freerepulic.com:
Here's something for broadband people that will really speed Firefox up:
1.Type "about:config" into the address bar and hit return. Scroll down and look for the following entries:
network.http.pipelining
network.http.proxy.pipelining
network.http.pipelining.maxrequests
Normally the browser will make one request to a web page at a time. When you enable pipelining it will make several at once, which really speeds up page loading.
2. Alter the entries as follows:
Set "network.http.pipelining" to "true"
Set "network.http.proxy.pipelining" to "true"
Set "network.http.pipelining.maxrequests" to some number like 30. This means it will make 30 requests at once.
3. Lastly right-click anywhere and select New-> Integer. Name it "nglayout.initialpaint.delay" and set its value to "0". This value is the amount of time the browser waits before it acts on information it recieves.
If you're using a broadband connection you'll load pages MUCH faster now!

No, I'm making the most of it, and it's awsome! Seriously, I was meant to do 300, but I did 3000, no wonder the sites I visit are loading extremely fast!

LOL.
Why isn't this default? There must be some downside...

The network.http.pipelining.maxrequests can easily be changed to whatever you want, but the extra bit that you add increases the performance.
Also, theses are just configurations, nothing special.

Too many requests might make the browser crash.

Nope! I'm doing a lot and I've had no problems for 3 days.

There are more things in the world of computers that make no sense. That it was set to 4 default doesn't mean putting it higher is bad.

I'm not that sure

Anyways, if it doesn't bring any problem, everything's fine ^^

A Conversational Arse is the most personal of all four because introductions are made through actual communication instead of just a profile or a list of interests. The medium of Conversational Networks are weblogs or blogs, which is a journal published on the Internet that contains a mixture of what is happening in a person’s life as well as the latest web trends. Blogs are updated regularly and can be maintained even by people with little technical knowledge through the use of a program or script. What happens is that a person read someone’s blog, and then gets a general idea of the author based on what he or she writes in the blog. One can even participate in someone’s blog by adding comments on their entries. Bloggers—those who own and write in blogs—have the choice to ignore their readers or reciprocate by reading and placing comments on the blogs of their readers. Then they can develop a more personal relationship through e-mails, chat, or an eyeball, a term used for people from the Internet who meet face-to-face for the first time.

As this is a browser topic, I feel that I need to make the following announcement in here:
DO NOT DOWNLOAD NETSCAPE 8!
It's completely terrible. Bad theme styles, keeps freezing, keeps crashing, keeps making irritating noises, won't allow most internet pages to open in new windows because it thinks they're pop-ups...
And a whole host of other things. Netscape 7 is way better.
