Re: Are you phone dependent?
I am the reason why there is 8% in the four option in the scale.
I only depend on my phone to make phonecalls Outside the house. I tend to use mostly the text chat apps When I am Inside for comfort But now I Don't really find myself doing that. Since I have Geometry Dash and ROMS in Mupen64 Fz edition, I use that to occupy myself When I am waiting longer for something or someone to arrive Or basically When I feel like it. I Barely listen to music on this thing. Sometimes it is used for schoolwork if necessary and I Don't really browse RPC with this laggy phone as much now. The computer is more comforting.
I think this deserves a Five. Doesn't it?

Re: Are you phone dependent?
Hard to put a rating on mine. I very rarely ever depend on my phone. I only use it for essential stuff, texting, calling, or GPS. Even for texting though, I find myself rarely using it because I prefer using methods of text chat communication through computer. Just never been a huge phone reliant person. When I first got my phone I installed a few emulators and that was my gateway to mobile gaming, but it quickly got stale for me.

Re: Are you phone dependent?
I only really use mine to send the odd text but I use the internet a lot on it and use it to buy stuff online when I'm not at my pc. I'm using it right now to browse RPC
Edit: I still kind of depend on it as in it keeps me online and my Spotify for music is on it

Re: Are you phone dependent?
Bump.
I have to update my vote, recently I got an iPad from my mother, and now that I can use it to play all the apps and stuff that I downloaded (and it being MUCH easier for me to type when being on here), I don't find myself using my phone unless I'm on the go, and even then I use it only as an MP3 player, calling/texting, and using it to browse Internet, not so much anymore for my apps, of which I only have the ones that I check regularly. Even though it's often, I still bring my laptop with me wherever I go, and I often will have the need to bring my laptop out if I have to do my organization work offline. I've gone down to 4 as a result, because honestly my computer and my new iPad is much more accurate than my phone can be.

OK so my vote remains an 8. Though I use my PC for almost everything, I hate the thoughts of even leaving the room without the phone. If I go downstairs without it, my reaction is "oh great!"
More often than not even i'f I'm just having something to eat real quick, I'll go up just to get it and bring it back down with me

I mean I'm the same way, I don't like leaving my phone, but even when I do bring it I tend to bring everything else electronic I can bring along with me, so i don't have just my phone to bring. My satchel is big enough to accommodate all the stuff I bring and beyond, so it's natural for me to turn to my computer or if not my iPad now more often than my phone. Plus whenever I play apps on my phone my phone has an unnatural tendency to drain quickly.Steo wrote:OK so my vote remains an 8. OK, now I'm not just slandering Apple again here, but iPhones really drain very fast when using apps alright, I believe you there. But then again maybe most iPhones I've seen just need new batteries as I don't have as much experience with them as most others. I'm all Android. The Jonster wrote:Plus whenever I play apps on my phone my phone has an unnatural tendency to drain quickly.
My S8 still lasts me a full day and has literally never went dead since I bought it. It's a year old now and I charged it overnight every night (apart from the one night I fell asleep and the other where the charger wasn't actually plugged into the wall). Charging overnight is far from recommended, yet I still done it and it still works. Even when I've used it heavily it did get low, but never actually depleted. A few times it got under 5% and even right down to 1% s couple of times but never died before I plugged it in.
My battery is almost twice the capacity of yours tbh though. Yours is 1715 mAh vs my 3000mAh. Even 3000 mAh isn't classed as that great anymore, just standard.

Re: Are you phone dependent?
Yeah sometimes the phone literally dies at under 20% at times. It’s laughable, really how terrible the phone’s battery is sometimes.

Re: Are you phone dependent?
I think a new battery would help a lot if you know anyone that will do it. Replacing an iPhone battery in anything after the 3GS up to the 6s is relatively easy.

I wonder if this poll did a reset, how many of those 10 people who originally voted 0 would change their answer.

I've been using my PC a lot more lately, but I still do keep my phone with me almost constantly, even if I don't use it.

Re: Are you phone dependent?
I like my new iPhone better than my old one. I've been using it more to download podcasts from my favourite station, play a few apps I like, watch videos etc. I think I've gone up to a 7.
Re: Are you phone dependent?
I still have an S8 and plan to use it until it breaks.

Re: Are you phone dependent?
I will stick with my 6 until i can get a new one.
Re: Are you phone dependent?
I've been using my phone less often lately and just playing games instead. I find that a lot more fun that looking at social media all day.

Re: Are you phone dependent?
Aside from here and Discord, I don’t use my phone for social media purposes anymore. Aside from a few other apps I like using, this phone will be used like it should be from now on: for communication purposes. I have a good enough memory to the point where I rarely have to use GPS more than once, and Mobile emulation never became a thing with me. I’ve gone down to a 4-5 in terms of dependency.

Re: Are you phone dependent?
I use my phone for quite a bit, now that I have the S10. It can be distracting, but also very helpful at times, with GPS. Hell, I enjoy playing Yugioh Duel Links on it, or Pocket Morties. Using discord at anytime, etc.
Re: Are you phone dependent?
I wanted to save up and buy an S10 myself, but then I wasn't too sure. I think as much as I'd like one, the S8 still works fine for me, so I'd probably be just wasting money. That doesn't mean I wouldn't like an S10 though.

Yeah, I only upgraded because my phone was literally dying. (From an S6)
