ok so.. gamezone had an interview with Michel Ancel and this was in the interview:

GZ: This is probably the most important question I have to ask: Can Rayman kick Mario's ass?

MA: Uh, maybe we'll have the answer very soon. (laughs)

so.. my instant thought was that he might be in smash bros.
do you guys think my speculation might be right or do you think I'm full of crap?

I honestly think he's talking more about how well Legends will do in comparison to a Mario game, perhaps 3D world or NSMBU, rather that Rayman being in the next smash bros, but really it can be meant in both ways, I guess.

While i'm not completely objectifying the theory if he were to be in Smash Bros he'd probably of been announced at E3. He might be there but honestly I wouldn't count on it and just rely on Mugen to satisfy your Rayman vs Mario needs.

Do you guys easily fall over these things? I remember the facebook voting pages which were fake.

Mugen sucks also, just my thoughts on that XD.

I never said it did.
I said it might be a hint about smash bros.

If that's the case, I'm changing the topic title, this sort of thing is just asking for trouble.

I hope he will. And yeah, Mugen version of Rayman is bad, and he has only few attacks.

Nyeh I just knew it was a fighting style game which allowed people to add characters to the game.

Maybe they'll reveal him on August 29th, like how they revealed Olimar a day before Pikmin 3's Japan release.

I remember one video, a guy mentioned some "okay-ish" characters to be in the next SSB. Until he said he wanted Nathan Drake, not received well either.

Sonic is not Nintendo Character as well and he was in Brawl.

Indeed, same can be said for Megaman, he's from Capcom, and he's coming in the upcoming Smash games.
Either way, as it stands, the situation is the same, I renamed this topic purposely, in case people misinterpreted it and got excited over nothing, like Rayfist said, we've gone through this before, and I for one, don't want to go down that path again.
