Update: Now the talking engine is now done which means characters can talk to you now. Also, Hunchman will be the voice of the Pirates.

UPDATE: Since The Canopy is finished, a video showing more footage which could be the official trailer of the game might come very soon. The date for the video release is unknown since I would like to get Dark Caverns of Nightmares and Drown or Sink finished before recording the footage and also I would like to finish up the shop and a bit more of the minigames as well.

Ok, I've just tested the game, and here is my feedback.

Overall you did a very goog job, but there are some things to fix as quick as you can.

First, the hitboxes. Often I got hit while I don't actually touch an enemy. It's very frustrating. Also the jump shoul be fixed, it works a little weird.
Oh, the enemy A.I. If you place behind an enemy, it won't turn in front of you, so in that position you will be invulnerable.
Also, the tiles look a bit strange. You should redefine them.

Nike work by the way, keep updating!

Wow, this game is looking a huge amount better than what the last I saw of it was! It looks a lot smoother (but the ground and sky could be blended together a bit better, like that first screenshot in your most recent post) and it seems you've got most of what a good Rayman 1-esque 2D game needs! I can tell it still isn't finished, but it's clearly got a lot done already! Keep up the good work!

Hm, I see you're using the metallic R2 Prototype tings, hope you won't mind my hassling here, but I think you ought to change them a little. The design of them is such that they reflect their surroundings, which made sense in the Prototype, seeing as it took place in a forest. The issue here is that they're reflecting a forest in the middle of a fort, it's probably not the greatest detail, but one I feel that does detract from things.

Also, I think your objects need to have a little more perspective, for instance, it looks really weird to be looking at a thorn pit from a birds-eye perspective, yet in actuality, it ought to be laid bare like a sheet of paper on a desk I'm sitting behind. It's not the only example I could come up with, but I think it's one that'd hopefully convey my point.

If there is anymore bugs you find, let me know. The shop which I just finished ain't in the demo as well as the mini games. I didn't wanna spoil too much of my game. So here is the data folder.

For people that said the data link is broken, I have reuploaded everything. Now on the first link, it includes everything in it except the .exe. All you have to do is to extract the data folder and the .exe folder and put them in the same location and that is it. No renaming or putting the music folder in the data. This is still the old demo and I plan to make a new one in June.

Thanks, the shop will include the free life, the big and small power up but I might change the small one into a red lum. The gold fist and the mini games. I will in the future make a super gold fist which will cost a LOT of tings, it will let you have the gold fist permanently. About the Dark Rayman, it isn't Dark Rayman, it is a clone that guards the fire lum. I will make a few modifications to make him look more different than yours.
