What do you guys think about Happy Tree Friends?

Yup. Love it. It was my favourite lunchtime endeavour in eleventh grade.

I think the newer episodes are not nearly to-the-point enough, there's so much setup for hardly any payoff. The older episodes would give you a setting, and whether it was focusing on only one aspect or taking every single opportunity it could to show you some hilariously painful gore, they went all-out in making it as cringeworthy as possible. The newer episodes, on the other hand, are much more elaborate in these little 'stories' they give each episode, but the deaths have been cut down to nothing more than people getting sliced in half or crushed by something; dare I say, some of them are even SFW, something Happy Tree Friends should be the furthest thing from. What happened to stuff like Eyes Cold Lemonade? The rusty nails scraping the skin of their faces was so fucking awesome, they just don't make them like that anymore.

For awesomeness' sake:

I haven't watched that show in ten years I think, felt like checking the new episodes at first but based on Ad's post I don't know if it's worth it.

There are new episodes? Because this isn't really the kind of thing that I imagine having much potential as a long runner.

Probably the reason we haven't heard of it in so long.

And yes, they still make new episodes. Some of them aren't half that bad.

Indeed, they're not that bad, and some of them are fairly good, but most of the shock value has been lost, and watching the newer ones usually makes me want to go back and revisit some classics.

I remember the only one I saw that I found genuinely cringe worthy was the one where Lumpy got his leg stuck under a tree so he spent all day breaking away at it with a spoon to free himself... only for it to be revealed the dumbass was working on the wrong leg. Hahaha.

Cuddles and Flaky are the best characters.

I really like them. a mostly silent comedy with colorful characters and extreme violence.
My favorite episodes were Blind Date, Remains to be Seen, Class Act, and Double Whammy.
Favorite characters are Flaky, Flippy and the Mole

Flaky's always great. They're the only actual wimpy character in the show, which makes you feel all the more sorry for them when they get fucked up.

I also like how Giggles has to date only caused the death of one other, and no one else. Each character has their own little thing giving you something very basic to expect from each scene, which I think is great.
