RAYMAN : Heart of the world

What is it?

Rayman : Heart of the World is a pilot for a series I will soon create for youtube audiences which has a detailed but simple plot line, stunning art-work and much much more. It's also interactive using youtube's annotations feature!

How does that work?

Each "level" in the story will start off with a cutscene that progresses the story, then enemies will appear. You will be positioned in front of enemies (sort of like South park: Stick of Truth, Final fantasy, other RPGs) and a scroll wheel with options will be shown to you. Using the annotation feature, you will be able to choose which method of attack you want to use against the said enemy!

So, what animation is this? 3D, 2D? I'm confused.

Okay, so basically, the whole thing will be drawn by hand and put into movie maker or sony vegas, whatever. It will basically be like a drawn stopmotion animation with different paths. It is entirely drawn by hand!

What is the plot?

Rayman has woken up from his long sleep after the hoodlum's defeat but is suddenly woken to Globox breathing loudly in his face. He pants and starts groaning at rayman, which annoys him. Globox, still staring and moaning at rayman, begins to tell rayman that he heard something from beyond the trees, something big, with red eyes... It's up to you to investigate. If he's correct, the heart of the world maybe at stake.

Awesome! When will it be released?!?!?

WOAH, slow down! Since this is only planned out very recently, the drawings, which will obviously be hand drawn could take days, even weeks. Since there will also be different attack paths, so, for example, if you were on the battle screen and you chose "fist attack!", then further drawings of rayman simply moving his fist would need another 10-11 drawings. It's a long but rewarding process!

The release date is estimated: August for a preview, January 2015 or sooner for the first few scenes. Yep. I'm serious.

I want it NOW! Can I help in anyway?

If people want to PM me to help draw for example, sure! I'll hand them the story and tell them what they could draw for me. I'll be doing most of the drawings but it would be interesting to see different art styles in this game.

Interesting concept, so its like a point and click adventure game with action?

This sounds like fun. Just one question. If there are any character from Rayman 1 in it, will they have Origin designs with limbs or be classic without them

Hmm, good question - since i'm still writing the "script" and storyboards, i haven't really thought of the styles, i'm also looking for help so feel free to help draw characters! It would probably be the origin's style because i'm bad at drawing and that seems easier.

Well I'm not an artist, But I can give a suggestion about Mr.Dark. Just make him a cloak, a hat, only be able to see his eyes, and uses his cape as appendages.
