Rayman M for PS2 on-line?

I read on some sites that the PS2 version of Rayman M allowed to play exclusive maps on-line through the modem of the console, except for the PC version which has the Lan connection only on the American counterpart (Rayman Arena), it's true?

Looking through the files on the disc I did see some references to online play.

In my PS2 version it is not possible to play online.

I never saw anything about online in PS2 version in main menu either. Many games have on covers mention of online play like this for example:
and Rayman M does not have that.

I have the feeling I heard about that many years ago, but wasn't that a dropped feature? I know that an online multiplayer was planned at a point, but that didn't make to the final version. The only "leftover" is the LAN connection in the North American PC copies.

North American LAN mode never worked for me to be honest.

I think we should port the PC LAN from Arena into RM. You know, I made a Skype group for R hacking, with me, Droolie, and RibShark, we need more peoples. Maybe someone wants to join?
