You could rename for Dark Souls and not only the second.

I watched one of my friends play the first. He was literally hitting his forehead against his desk every time he was dying without having picked up all the stuff he had lost the previous time.

Dark Souls is a game where several hours of playing can be ruined in only 2 minutes and a god damned barrel trap taken twice in a row. The feeling bro'.

Should be a topic about Demon's souls and Bloodbourne too, since they're essentially part of the same franchise. :P About a month ago, I was addicted to the first Dark Souls, until I got stuck on The Bed of Chaos boss. I'm hoping for a PS4 port of Dark souls 2, though I heard it wasn't quite as good as Dark/Demon's Souls. I also just saw the new Bloodbourne gameplay trailer and it's basically classic Souls gameplay with a Gothic twist; it looks awesome!

Edit to DkS, but personately I prefer way more DkS2 than 1 or DmS

I finally beat "The Bed of Chaos"! Definitely one of the cheapest bosses I've encountered in the game so far.

Hehe, nice!
Good luck for the rest ! :p
Didn't played DkS1, only a bit, I wait getting a good GPU to run it at 30/60fps.

Thanks! I just conquered the darkness within "The Tomb Of Giants" and have now slain Gravelord Nito. I think I'm ready for the final boss now. :o
Also, I am too going to upgrade to a better GPU, and even get some more RAM, mainly so I can run games like Dark Souls 2 at a good standard.

Wow this is an old topic. But hey, it's Record Day and I've read that one idea behind it is to have new discussions in old topics so I hope replying here is fine

Anyway, big Dark Souls enthusiast here. I've played the trilogy, Sekiro and Elden Ring and got platinum in all of these games. I also did a few challenge runs, including a pretty bad speedrun in Dark Souls 1. But Demon's Souls and Bloodborne are unavailable to me because you need a console.

Any other Dark Souls fans here? And do you also still like Dark Souls 1 best?

Hey, another modern fan here! I started playing those games last year and it was a memorable experience. I completed DS1, DS2, DS3, Bloodborne, and I'm completing Elden Ring right now.

I consider Bloodborne my personal favourite, followed by DS1. Which was the hardest DS1 boss for you?

I believe I struggled the most with O&S and the Bed of Chaos. Nowadays, it's probably the Sanctuary Guardian. Which was the hardest for you?

Oh, the DLC is definitely another level!

From the vanilla game, I'd say the gargoyles were definitely a real test for me. I was a noob back then, I didn't know the mechanics and I didn't understand some concepts. I had to understand several things, like the weapon upgrades, to beat them. Right after that, I wouldn't say the bosses weren't that hard for me. I remember that my friend freaked out when it took me 4 tries to beat O&S, and a couple of them to beat the Capra demon

But the hardest of all of the soulsborne games, I'd say is Malenia 100%. It literally was the first time that I got stuck like a couple of days in a boss.

I haven't played Shadow of the Erdtree yet because the expansion is too expensive imo. I'll buy it at a discount sometime.
Anyways, Dark Souls 2 SOTF was way harder than anything I've done in DS1, DS3 or Elden Ring.
Here are two words that will bring nightmares to any DS2 player: Frigid Outskirts.

I've heard of a few people who got O&S done rather quickly. You can be happy about being a part of them. Personally, I'd say the final boss of the Elden Ring DLC is the hardest in the series, even harder than Malenia.
But I also agree that DS2 is the hardest game casually, at least until you figure out ADP. Lud and Zallen is the only boss I haven't beaten. Maybe I should come back to them eventually. They are the key to cool items at least.

O&S is where boys become men, or girls become women I guess. It took about 1-2 hours for me to beat, but it was more effort than I've ever put into a boss fight, especially how you had to stay calm and not freak out because of how unfair it seemed.

Lud and Zallen were so difficult just because you didn't want to redo all of Frigid Outskirts when you die, so just mainly because of pressure.

Yea, that's the main reason I didn't beat them. But they also outhealed my damage at some point and then I just didn't feel like it was worth it anymore. At least I got the SotFS edition and didn't play for that DLC in particular.

Mmm, interesting... I do find Elden Ring way harder than SOTFS! I find that version like DS2 with more random enemies, that's it.

I haven't played Shadow of the Erdtree, and I don't think I will in the short term. Maybe when it gets cheaper? I don't know. Probably I'll take a break of souls games once I finish Elden Ring. I'm completing most of the game with a friend who bought it at the same time.

Which one is your favourite boss from the series?

Definitely slave knight Gael, no question!

From the trilogy, I'd say Pontiff Sulyvahn.
From all of the games, I'd say Orphan of Kos. Not exaggerating if I say it's the best boss battle I played in my life.
