Rayman 2: Keyboard not responding at all

Hey there,

I have a problem that avoids me from playing Rayman 2: the great escape. well, I have the GOG.com version installed on my Dell Inspiron 3542, windows 8.1 64-bit. The game works, but at the first screen (the one that you're supposed to choose your language in) the keyboard is not responding at all. I have searched about this problem in google and in this forum and, wierdly enough, I haven't found anyone that reports about this problem..

Also, maybe I'm wrong, but I think I saw something about Nvidia drivers causing troubles.. is that true? if so - what can I do to make it work?

Thanks in advance,
MasterLinuxer.

Hello MasterLinuxer, welcome to Rayman Pirate-Community!

To fix your Rayman 2 installation, try using this fix. If it doesn't work, the game runs fine in WINE, so try that (I presume you are a Linux user from your username).

Hello there and thanks for your reply,

As I wrote, I am running windows 8.1 64-bit, not Linux.. My username is indeed confusing, but it's just an old username i'm using :)

Anyways - I can't run WINE. I have tried the fix that you shared. First of all, I didn't really understand why I should do with it.. I tried placing it in Rayman2 folder and also tired to put in Rayman2/DLL folder (DLL folder that's inside Rayman2 folder).. It didn't solve my problem. Did I use it right?

And if I did, is there another fix you can think of?

Thanks.

You did use it right. Sorry that it it did not fix the problem. How long ago did you install the game? GOG recently updated it to fix certain issues.

Did you try moving the mouse in that screen? It works on GOG's version if I remember. Maybe the game didn't put controls right and messes up somewhere. Try to take a look at controls in game if you can move into it with the mouse, or if it doesn't work, try to find how to access Rayman2's controls in Rayman2's folder. They gotta be somewhere where you can access them.

Saer is right, try clicking on the screen and then use the keyboard. This works me "just saying" for AVGN Adventures.
