Don't see why this needed to be its own thread, you could've easily asked it in the R2 thread.
As for an answer, no, R3D isn't too shabby, but I'd not bin ~£150 for a 3DS solely for it.

Sorry, i was kinda in a rush, I was trying to make the last minute decision and I was using my phone.
